Only Begotten Son
• <3439> μονογενής (monogenes); Meaning: only begotten
• NET BIBLE NOTES say, 37 tn Although this word is often
translated "only begotten," such a translation is misleading,
since in English it appears to express a metaphysical
relationship. The word in Greek was used of an only child (a
son [Luke 7:12, 9:38] or a daughter [Luke 8:42]). It was also
used of something unique (only one of its kind) such as the
mythological Phoenix (1 Clement 25:2). From here it passes
easily to a description of Isaac (Heb 11:17 and Josephus, Ant.
1.13.1 [1.222]) who was not Abraham's only son, but was oneof-a-kind because he was the child of the promise. Thus the
word means "one-of-a-kind" and is reserved for Jesus in the
Johannine literature of the NT. While all Christians are children
of God (τέκνα θεοῦ, tekna theou), Jesus is God's Son in a
unique, one-of-a-kind sense. The word is used in this way in all
its uses in the Gospel of John (1:14, 1:18, 3:16, and 3:18).

Dr. Fleming says that, “The climate in Jerusalem would take about
two years to decompose a body. So, the plan would be at the end of
those two years to come back and collect the bones and put them
into a bone box called an ossuary. The proof of the resurrection of
Jesus however is not just found in the folded arrangement of the
grave clothes, which could not be explained. Rather, Jesus' followers
turned that First Century upside down. They should have returned to
their nets had the resurrection not occurred, but instead they turned
the First Century upside down. It was the early disciples' belief in the
Resurrection that kept them serving God. It kept them even in spite of
danger and persecution. They were willing to give their lives in
obedience to God's will, sharing the Gospel throughout the Roman

world.

• "Yes. Israel was set apart unto God, as a

when he brought his people to Mount Sinai and
entered into covenant with her. She had passed
through the Red Sea after being redeemed from
Egyptian bondage in what my surely be the most
dramatic awe-inspiring bridle mikvah of all time!
Even today the bride cannot be legally married in
Israel without having first been to the mikvah or

Messiah's bride!“….
Exodus 14:20, Israel The Consecrated Bride
in Jewish Jewels March 2013

• Song of Songs (Shir Hashirim) is the book of the Bible that is read by
all devout Jews on Passover, not Exodus. It celebrates God's
marriage to Israel (Hosea 2:19). The Song of Songs is also a love
song for the new covenant bride Jeremiah 31:232, Song of Songs Ch
8, Isaiah 65:1-10.
• "Yes the God of Israel actually followed the ancient Jewish wedding
customs when he took Israel as his bride. Brides were purchased. A
mohar, or bride price, was paid for them by the prospective
bridegroom. God was reminded of his purchase of Israel in Psalm
74:2, "Remember Your congregation which You have purchased of
old, the tribe of your inheritance, which you have redeemed." What
price did the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob paid for Israel?
Blood. A high price. We often think of the blood of all the lambs
that was killed as per God's instructions so that their blood could be
applied to the lintel and doorpost of each Israelite home. But for
God, the price also included the blood of each firstborn in Egypt
who were part of God's creation. Jewish people

• do not rejoice over the slaying of the firstborn. In fact, a drop of
wine (symbolizing joy) is spilled on a plate when this plague is
mentioned, diminishing joy because of the suffering of part of
God's creation. It was God's love for Israel that made Him willing to
pay such a high bride price. In the same way, Yeshua's love for His
bride compelled Him to pay the highest price, his own blood.
"Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like
silver or gold… But with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb
without blemish and without spot" (1 Peter 1:18-19)."
• Seders are at Passover, and are all about asking questions. Asking
questions is a very Jewish thing to do a little child initiates both
through traditional and the Messianic Seders by asking questions.
He asked, "Why is this night different from all other nights?" Israel
was given bridle gifts at the Exodus 3:21-22 "...plunder the
Egyptians..." We see this custom in Genesis 24:53, then the servant

them to Rebecca…"
Exodus 14:21, THE PARTING OF THE
RED SEA TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT
• “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the
LORD caused the sea to go [back] by a strong east wind all
that night, and made the sea dry [land], and the waters
were divided.”
• The parting of the Red Sea as the Israelites escaped Egypt is
one of the most attacked miracles in the Bible. Much of
scholarly opinion says that the Israelites didn’t really
escape through the sea. They simply went through a nearby
marsh, called the Reed Sea. In the first place, how could the
Israelites, loaded down with their own possessions plus the
spoils of Egypt, have traveled through a marsh? Second,
how could an entire army drown in a swamp?
• An article in the bulletin of the American Meteorological
Society shows that the Red Sea could have parted just as
Exodus 14:21, THE PARTING OF THE
RED SEA TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT
• the Bible describes. In making their case, meteorologists
used sophisticated computer simulations and the Bible’s
description of the event. Because the extension of the Gulf
where the Israelites crossed is so long and shallow, the
strong east wind described in Exodus 14, could have
lowered the water level by ten feet. The Israelites could
then cross on an underwater ridge, with water on both
sides of them. The water backed up into the wider portion
of the Red Sea could return within a matter of minutes
after the wind stopped, drowning pharaoh and his army.
• So many of the miraculous events described in the Bible
have been explained away by science as natural events and
this may just be another case. But all this means is that God
can use natural events and that He is in control of when
and where they occur.

why the women who came to prepare Jesus' body were wondering who

Nehemiah 9:9 "You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, And heard their cry by the Red Sea. 10 "Then Thou didst perform signs and wonders
against Pharaoh, Against all his servants and all the people of his land; For Thou didst know that they acted arrogantly toward them, And didst make
a name for Thyself as it is this day.
11 "And Thou didst divide the sea before them, So they passed through the midst of the sea on dry ground; And their pursuers Thou didst hurl into
the depths, Like a stone into raging waters.
12 "And with a pillar of cloud Thou didst lead them by day, And with a pillar of fire by night To light for them the way In which they were to go.
13 "Then Thou didst come down on Mount Sinai, And didst speak with them from heaven; Thou didst give to them just ordinances and true laws,
Good statutes and commandments.
14 "So Thou didst make known to them Thy holy sabbath, And didst lay down for them commandments, statutes, and law, Through Thy servant
Moses.
15 "Thou didst provide bread from heaven for them for their hunger, Thou didst bring forth water from a rock for them for their thirst, And Thou
didst tell them to enter in order to possess The land which Thou didst swear to give them.
16 "But they, our fathers, acted arrogantly; They became stubborn and would not listen to Thy commandments.
17 "And they refused to listen, And did not remember Thy wondrous deeds which Thou hadst performed among them; So they became stubborn and
appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But Thou art a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, and abounding
in lovingkindness; And Thou didst not forsake them.
18 "Even when they made for themselves A calf of molten metal And said, 'This is your God Who brought you up from Egypt,' And committed great
blasphemies,
19 Thou, in Thy great compassion, Didst not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, To guide them on their
way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go.
20 "And Thou didst give Thy good Spirit to instruct them, Thy manna Thou didst not withhold from their mouth, And Thou didst give them water for
their thirst.
21 "Indeed, forty years Thou didst provide for them in the wilderness and they were not in want; Their clothes did not wear out, nor did their feet
swell.
22 "Thou didst also give them kingdoms and peoples, And Thou didst allot them to them as a boundary. And they took possession of the land of Sihon
the king of Heshbon, And the land of Og the king of Bashan.
23 "And Thou didst make their sons numerous as the stars of heaven, And Thou didst bring them into the land Which Thou hadst told their fathers to
enter and possess.
24 "So their sons entered and possessed the land. And Thou didst subdue before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, And Thou didst
give them into their hand, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, To do with them as they desired.
25 "And they captured fortified cities and a fertile land. They took possession of houses full of every good thing, Hewn cisterns, vineyards, olive
groves, Fruit trees in abundance. So they ate, were filled, and grew fat, And reveled in Thy great goodness.

swarmed with frogs Even in the chambers of their kings. 31 He

shattered the trees of their territory. 34 He spoke, and locusts
came, And young locusts, even without number, 35 And ate up all
vegetation in their land, And ate up the fruit of their ground. 36
He also struck down all the firstborn in their land, The first fruits

35 "This Moses whom they disowned, saying,
'Who made you a ruler and a judge?' is the
one whom God sent to be both a ruler and a
deliverer with the help of the angel who
appeared to him in the thorn bush. 36 "This
man led them out, performing wonders and
signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea
and in the wilderness for forty years.

The Bible Confirms Exodus
• Hebrews 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was
hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw he
was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's
edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to
be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25 choosing rather to
endure ill-treatment with the people of God, than to enjoy
the passing pleasures of sin; 26 considering the reproach of
Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was
looking to the reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing
the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is
unseen. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of
the blood, so that he who destroyed the first-born might not
touch them. 29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as
though they were passing through dry land; and the
Egyptians, when they attempted it, were drowned.

TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT
THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA
Listen
Exodus 14:21
“And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go [back] by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry
[land], and the waters were divided.”
The parting of the Red Sea as the Israelites escaped Egypt is one of the most attacked miracles in the Bible. Much of scholarly opinion says that the
Israelites didn’t really escape through the sea. They simply went through a nearby marsh, called the Reed Sea. In the first place, how could the
Israelites, loaded down with their own possessions plus the spoils of Egypt, have traveled through a marsh? Second, how could an entire army drown
in a swamp?
An article in the bulletin of the American Meteorological Society shows that the Red Sea could have parted just as the Bible describes. In making their
case, meteorologists used sophisticated computer simulations and the Bible’s description of the event. Because the extension of the Gulf where the
Israelites crossed is so long and shallow, the strong east wind described in Exodus 14, could have lowered the water level by ten feet. The Israelites
could then cross on an underwater ridge, with water on both sides of them. The water backed up into the wider portion of the Red Sea could return
within a matter of minutes after the wind stopped, drowning pharaoh and his army.
So many of the miraculous events described in the Bible have been explained away by science as natural events and this may just be another case.
But all this means is that God can use natural events and that He is in control of when and where they occur.
Prayer:
Dear Father in heaven, I thank You for those dedicated scientists who take Your Word seriously and use their talents to glorify You. Let their witness
be heard, and move more of our Christian young people to study for the sciences. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  • 5. Ex 13:1-9 • Ex 13:2 "Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether man or animal.“ • Luke 2:22-24 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord"), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: "a pair of doves or two young pigeons."
  • 6. Exodus 13:9, Phylacteries • Exodus 13:9 "And it shall serve as a sign to you on your hand, and as a reminder on your forehead, that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth; for with a powerful hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.
  • 8. Parchments Inside Phylacteries • Exodus 13:1-16 • Deuteronomy 6:4-9 "Hear, O Israel! • 9. Ex 13:10-16 • Ex 13:15… sacrifice to the Lord the first male offspring of every womb and redeem each of my firstborn sons. • Why all this focus on “firstborn sons”?
  • 10. Why all this focus on “firstborn sons”? • Col 1:15…He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation… • Col 1:18…he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead… • Heb 1:6…when God brings his firstborn into the world… • Heb 12:22-23 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect… • Rev 1:5…Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead…
  • 11. Only Begotten Son • John 3:16…his only begotten Son… KJV • Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
  • 12. Only Begotten Son • <3439> μονογενής (monogenes); Meaning: only begotten • NET BIBLE NOTES say, 37 tn Although this word is often translated "only begotten," such a translation is misleading, since in English it appears to express a metaphysical relationship. The word in Greek was used of an only child (a son [Luke 7:12, 9:38] or a daughter [Luke 8:42]). It was also used of something unique (only one of its kind) such as the mythological Phoenix (1 Clement 25:2). From here it passes easily to a description of Isaac (Heb 11:17 and Josephus, Ant. 1.13.1 [1.222]) who was not Abraham's only son, but was oneof-a-kind because he was the child of the promise. Thus the word means "one-of-a-kind" and is reserved for Jesus in the Johannine literature of the NT. While all Christians are children of God (τέκνα θεοῦ, tekna theou), Jesus is God's Son in a unique, one-of-a-kind sense. The word is used in this way in all its uses in the Gospel of John (1:14, 1:18, 3:16, and 3:18).
  • 13. Who Was The Oldest? • • • • Ishmael or Isaac Esau or Jacob Rueben or Judah JW’s say that Jesus was a created being because he was the “Only Begotten Son” or the “the firstborn of all creation” • Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
  • 14. Ex 13:14-22 • Ex 13:18-19 The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for battle. • They are often portrayed as ragtag refugees, not conquering victors with plunder. • 19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the sons of Israel swear an oath. He had said, "God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place." • 400 years later they keep the promise!
  • 15. Exodus 13:18, NAU Went Up In Martial Array • • • • • • • NAS and NAU Exodus 13:18 Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt. KJV ...Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt. CSB ...in battle formation. ESV ... equipped for battle. NET ... prepared for battle. NKJ ...in orderly ranks YLT ...by fifties
  • 16. Exodus 13:18, NAU Went Up In Martial Array • NAS and NAU Exodus 13:18…the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt. • 02571 chamush {khaw-moosh'} • Meaning: 1) in battle array, arrayed for battle by fives, armed
  • 17. Exo. 13:19, Carry My Bones With You • Exodus 13:19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, "God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones from here with you.“ • What would your kids think of you if this was your dying wish?
  • 18. Exodus 13:19, Carry My Bones • Genesis 50:25 Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, "God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones up from here." • Exodus 13:19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, "God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones from here with you." • Acts 7:15 "And Jacob went down to Egypt and there he and our fathers died. 16 "From there they were removed to Shechem and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.
  • 19. Dr. Reagan and Dr. Fleming on “Bone Box”
  • 20. Dr. Reagan and Dr. Fleming on “Bone Box” • Dr. Fleming says that, “The climate in Jerusalem would take about two years to decompose a body. So, the plan would be at the end of those two years to come back and collect the bones and put them into a bone box called an ossuary. The proof of the resurrection of Jesus however is not just found in the folded arrangement of the grave clothes, which could not be explained. Rather, Jesus' followers turned that First Century upside down. They should have returned to their nets had the resurrection not occurred, but instead they turned the First Century upside down. It was the early disciples' belief in the Resurrection that kept them serving God. It kept them even in spite of danger and persecution. They were willing to give their lives in obedience to God's will, sharing the Gospel throughout the Roman world.
  • 21. Exodus 13:19, God Keeps His Promise • • • • Exodus 13:19 …God will surely take care of you… 400 years later, God keeps His promise! He always does Knowing the way they grumbled after the exodus, how much do you think they did in 400 years? • 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
  • 22. Exodus 13:21, What’s This “pillar of cloud/pillar of fire” • Exodus 13:21 The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. • Exo 3:4...God called to him from the midst of the bush and said… • Exodus 14:24 …the LORD looked down on the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud… • Exodus 14:19 The angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them. • Isaiah 63:8-9… In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.
  • 23. Exodus 13:21, What’s This “pillar of cloud/pillar of fire” • Exodus 13:21 The LORD was going before them … • Exodus 23:20 "Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21 "Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him. 22 "But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. 23 "For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites

  • 32. Exodus 14:18, Egyptians Will Know The LORD • Exodus 14:18 "Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD… • Joshua 2:9 and said to the men, "I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have melted away before you. 10 "For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. 11 "And when we heard it, our hearts melted and no courage remained in any man any longer because of you; for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.
  • 33. Exodus 14:20 Light darkness • Exodus 14:20 So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Thus the one did not come near the other all night. • There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of even one small candle. Robert Alden • Ecclesiastes 2:13 And I saw that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness.
  • 34. Exodus 14:20, Israel The Consecrated Bride in Jewish Jewels March 2013 • "Yes. Israel was set apart unto God, as a consecrated bride. Israel was set apart to God when he brought his people to Mount Sinai and entered into covenant with her. She had passed through the Red Sea after being redeemed from Egyptian bondage in what my surely be the most dramatic awe-inspiring bridle mikvah of all time! Even today the bride cannot be legally married in Israel without having first been to the mikvah or pool of immersion. Consider the implication for Messiah's bride!“….
  • 35. Exodus 14:20, Israel The Consecrated Bride in Jewish Jewels March 2013 • Song of Songs (Shir Hashirim) is the book of the Bible that is read by all devout Jews on Passover, not Exodus. It celebrates God's marriage to Israel (Hosea 2:19). The Song of Songs is also a love song for the new covenant bride Jeremiah 31:232, Song of Songs Ch 8, Isaiah 65:1-10. • "Yes the God of Israel actually followed the ancient Jewish wedding customs when he took Israel as his bride. Brides were purchased. A mohar, or bride price, was paid for them by the prospective bridegroom. God was reminded of his purchase of Israel in Psalm 74:2, "Remember Your congregation which You have purchased of old, the tribe of your inheritance, which you have redeemed." What price did the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob paid for Israel? Blood. A high price. We often think of the blood of all the lambs that was killed as per God's instructions so that their blood could be applied to the lintel and doorpost of each Israelite home. But for God, the price also included the blood of each firstborn in Egypt who were part of God's creation. Jewish people
  • 36. Exodus 14:20, Israel The Consecrated Bride in Jewish Jewels March 2013 • do not rejoice over the slaying of the firstborn. In fact, a drop of wine (symbolizing joy) is spilled on a plate when this plague is mentioned, diminishing joy because of the suffering of part of God's creation. It was God's love for Israel that made Him willing to pay such a high bride price. In the same way, Yeshua's love for His bride compelled Him to pay the highest price, his own blood. "Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold… But with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (1 Peter 1:18-19)." • Seders are at Passover, and are all about asking questions. Asking questions is a very Jewish thing to do a little child initiates both through traditional and the Messianic Seders by asking questions. He asked, "Why is this night different from all other nights?" Israel was given bridle gifts at the Exodus 3:21-22 "...plunder the Egyptians..." We see this custom in Genesis 24:53, then the servant brought out jewelry of silver jewelry of gold, and clothing, and gave them to Rebecca…"
  • 37. Exodus 14:21, THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT • “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go [back] by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry [land], and the waters were divided.” • The parting of the Red Sea as the Israelites escaped Egypt is one of the most attacked miracles in the Bible. Much of scholarly opinion says that the Israelites didn’t really escape through the sea. They simply went through a nearby marsh, called the Reed Sea. In the first place, how could the Israelites, loaded down with their own possessions plus the spoils of Egypt, have traveled through a marsh? Second, how could an entire army drown in a swamp? • An article in the bulletin of the American Meteorological Society shows that the Red Sea could have parted just as
  • 38. Exodus 14:21, THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT • the Bible describes. In making their case, meteorologists used sophisticated computer simulations and the Bible’s description of the event. Because the extension of the Gulf where the Israelites crossed is so long and shallow, the strong east wind described in Exodus 14, could have lowered the water level by ten feet. The Israelites could then cross on an underwater ridge, with water on both sides of them. "Well, Mom, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got to the Red Sea, he had his army build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then he radioed headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved." "Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?" his Mother asked. • "Well, no, Mom, but, if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it!"

It was a classic rolling stone type of tomb. • Dr. Fleming: Yes, and it would have been quite big. Joseph of Arimathea was one of the elders, which means a member of the Jewish ruling Sanhedrin. Archaeologists have discovered some tombs in Jerusalem with this same large entry stone, so we know the tomb Jesus was put in must have been a wealthy tomb. • The entry stone rolls uphill to open. It would be easier to close the tomb than open it. Because opening was going to take a lot of pushing, that's why the women who came to prepare Jesus' body were wondering who would help them push back the stone. • Usually a wealthy Jewish tomb's entryway was decorated with floral or geometric designs. • Outside of the tomb, there would be a mourner's bench. For one week you would visit the tomb daily and you would cry. There were even tear

But Thou art a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness; And Thou didst not forsake them. 18 "Even when they made for themselves A calf of molten metal And said, 'This is your God Who brought you up from Egypt,' And committed great blasphemies, 19 Thou, in Thy great compassion, Didst not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, To guide them on their way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go. 20 "And Thou didst give Thy good Spirit to instruct them, Thy manna Thou didst not withhold from their mouth, And Thou didst give them water for their thirst. 21 "Indeed, forty years Thou didst provide for them in the wilderness and they were not in want; Their clothes did not wear out, nor did their feet swell. 22 "Thou didst also give them kingdoms and peoples, And Thou didst allot them to them as a boundary. And they took possession of the land of Sihon the king of Heshbon, And the land of Og the king of Bashan. 23 "And Thou didst make their sons numerous as the stars of heaven, And Thou didst bring them into the land Which Thou hadst told their fathers to enter and possess. 24 "So their sons entered and possessed the land. And Thou didst subdue before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, And Thou didst give them into their hand, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, To do with them as they desired. 25 "And they captured fortified cities and a fertile land. They took possession of houses full of every good thing, Hewn cisterns, vineyards, olive groves, Fruit trees in abundance. So they ate, were filled, and grew fat, And reveled in Thy great goodness.
  • 53. Psalm 105:27, The Bible Confirms Exodus • Psalm 105:27 They performed His wondrous acts among them, And miracles in the land of Ham. 28 He sent darkness and made it dark; And they did not rebel against His words. 29 He turned their waters into blood And caused their fish to die. 30 Their land swarmed with frogs Even in the chambers of their kings. 31 He spoke, and there came a swarm of flies And gnats in all their territory. 32 He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land. 33 He struck down their vines also and their fig trees, And shattered the trees of their territory. 34 He spoke, and locusts came, And young locusts, even without number, 35 And ate up all vegetation in their land, And ate up the fruit of their ground. 36 He also struck down all the firstborn in their land, The first fruits of all their vigor. 37 Then He brought them out with silver and gold, And among His tribes there was not one who stumbled. 38 Egypt was glad when they departed, For the dread of them had fallen upon them.

  • 55. Hebrews 11:23, The Bible Confirms Exodus • Hebrews 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25 choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God, than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin; 26 considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing Him who is unseen. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that he who destroyed the first-born might not touch them. 29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as though they were passing through dry land; and the Egyptians, when they attempted it, were drowned.
  • 56. • • • • • • • • • • • • TODAY'S CREATION MOMENT THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA Listen Exodus 14:21 “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go [back] by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry [land], and the waters were divided.” The parting of the Red Sea as the Israelites escaped Egypt is one of the most attacked miracles in the Bible. An article in the bulletin of the American Meteorological Society shows that the Red Sea could have parted just as the Bible describes. The water backed up into the wider portion of the Red Sea could return within a matter of minutes after the wind stopped, drowning pharaoh and his army. So many of the miraculous events described in the Bible have been explained away by science as natural events and this may just be another case. But all this means is that God can use natural events and that He is in control of when and where they occur. Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, I thank You for those dedicated scientists who take Your Word seriously and use their talents to glorify You. Let their witness be heard, and move more of our Christian young people to study for the sciences. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. Notes: Thomas H.
