The country of Myanmar is also known as Burma. Today it is officially called the Union of Myanmar. Myanmar was known to its people and surrounding countries as the Golden Earth. This is because of its rich cultures and its natural attractions. The Burmese people worship in temples and pagodas instead of churches. There are many temples that are covered with real gold to honor the gods.
