3. Exaggerating to Improve
1. Say a short phrase like “Kate isn’t here now”
loudly and with normal emphasis.
2. Take inflection up to a level 10 (“Disc
Jockey”).
3. Take inflection back down to a level 5 or 6.

4. Adjusting the Volume of your Voice
• Use a lower volume than an angry customer.
• Use a higher volume for a customer that is
confused.
• Don’t start a normal conversation out too
loudly.
