 To contribute enhancing and deepening the CROSSOVER
International Roadmap on Policy Making 2.0
 through mapping and identifying promising cases of
applications of ICT solutions for governance and policy
modelling, selecting and analysing in depth four good
practice cases, evaluating lessons learned and impacts from
implementation of ICT solutions for governance and policy
modelling at both European and global level.
 Activities coordinated by JRC-IPTS and conducted in
collaboration with NTUA as part of the CROSSOVER project

 Emerging from the need to solve real problems
 initiated either by governments or as a result of collaboration between
researchers and governments, in a top-down approach
 Multi-disciplinarity in the teams
 different perspectives and ensured appropriate modelling of policy options
and interpretation of outcomes
 Address the targeted needs of policy makers and citizens
 allow them contribute in a more efficient and productive way to the policy
issue at stake through dedicated tools
 Power of high-quality data at an appropriate level and format to be
incorporated into policy models is indisputable
 Recognize the network effect of social media and Web2.0
 but their use for the policy-making domain is often accompanied by some
scepticism or too much enthusiasm

7.  Funding has been a non-negligible factor
 additional functionalities and components have been gradually
introduced
 Cases succeeded in informing policy makers in a documented manner
