Bentomat® CLT has been selected as the waterproofing layer
beneath the lagoon of Hammer Hill Road Park just besides Chi
Lin Nunnery, Diamond Hill. Featuring with the aesthetic Chinese
style garden, Bentomat® CLT helped retaining the decorative
water to create a harmonic landscape scenery with the
surrounding Tang style monastic architecture.
Bentomat® CLT is a reinforced Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL),
consisting of a layer of Volclay® sodium bentonite between two
layers of high strength chemically resistant geotextile, which are
needle punched together and laminated with a flexible HDPE
sheet. The natural occurring Volclay® sodium bentonite is
environmental friendly. With its low permeability and self-healing
capacity, Bentomat® CLT is a long lasting and effective
hydraulic seal.
A unique needle punching process ensures even distribution of
bentonite and provides high peel and shear strength. The
textured surface of the HDPE sheet increases the interface
friction between Bentomat® CLT and adjacent substrate.
Bentomat® CLT requires only a simple overlapped seam made
without any special seaming equipment or skilled labor.
