2. The God Delusion
A. Reaction
After I had watched The God Delusion, my belief and faith does not changed. Even
despite the fact that Richard Dawkin was good in expressing the side of the
atheist; and he amazed me when he said that he is proud on being an atheist, they
were proud, standing tall to face the far horizon, and atheism nearly indicates a
healthy independence of mind also a healthy mind itself. I admitted that everyone
has an option on what they should believe and I respect the atheist on what they
believed. I don’t know what was the reason in all of that kind of documentary,
maybe they want to gathered more followers in their group, and I respect that!
But me I will not and I will never change what I believed in. Because I know my
Savior is. I accepted him as my Creator and Savor. For the documentary, it was
great, actually it makes me scared a bit because of the transition, the way how
Richard Dawkin talked, and even the sound effect. Over all that was great and good
than other documentaries.
3. B. Synthesis
The God’s Delusion by Richard Dawkin tackles about Science and Religion,
Homosexuality and Atheism, and Reason and Faith. About science and religion in his
book The God Delusion, he stated that there are lots of people out there who have
been brought up in some religion or other, are unhappy in it, or are worried about
the evils that are done in its name; people who feel vague yearnings to leave their
parents’ religion and wish they could, but just don’t realize that leaving is an option.
Religion is not the root of all evil, for no one thing is the root of all anything.
Science that extremely simple computational models can generate what appears to
be arbitrarily complex output. For that matter, the creation of the universe at the
big bang is now thought by some physicists to have been the result of a quantum
fluctuation. Dawkins' argument is also strangely reminiscent of the many attempts
by creationists and intelligent design writers to apply probability arguments in the
science-religion debate. One of the fallacies common to both Dawkins' argument
and those of the creationist-intelligent design camp is to overlook the fact that an
enormous ensemble of potential outcomes might equally fit the overall objective,
and so to attempt to calculate the probability of a single configuration (whether it
be a protein, an organism or even the entire universe) is highly misleading. For me,
religion is not the one who will save us; it is that if we accept that there is God and
if we accept that God is our savior then we will be saved. There are many people
who know, in their heart of hearts, that they are atheists, but dare not admit it to
their families or even, in some cases, to themselves. Partly, this is because the
very word ‘atheist’ has been assiduously built up as a terrible and frightening label.
We all know that cause even us, when we heard atheist we were frightened and
scared. In his book also discusses homosexuality. The status of atheists in America
today is on a balance with that of homosexuals fifty years ago. The reason so many
people don’t notice atheists is that many of them are unwilling to ‘come out’. His
dream is that his book may help people to come out. Exactly as in the case of the
gay movement, the more people come out, the easier it will be for others to join
them. There may be a critical mass for the initiation of a chain reaction. In this
part, he amazed me again; he is not reluctant to come out, he was so proud to be
atheist.
4. EXAM
Reaction
The exam was worth giving a time to watch. If there is only a commercial, that will
be the time for me to go to the comfort room because every single action that was
done by the characters was quite exciting. It has really something to do with Logic.
When the time started to run, it’s getting more exciting. When Brown tortured his
co-examinee, I was shocked because I don’t like to watch movie that has something
to do with torturing and also bloody movies. That was an intense. And this shows in
the performances, which centre on surface, physical expression. At least they're
extremely well-done, and they give the limited setting more motion and interest.
Especially if you're paying attention and figure out some of the story's tricks along
the way, and there are a lot of twist. And I all laugh when the last standing
character revealed that the answer to the question is no. And it makes me
realized; when the proctor said that there is only one question and one answer. In
some view, sometimes I thought it was pointless but I realized that the movie has
something to do with Logic and it was logic itself.
