Who should attend: Top Management, CFO, CRO, CIO...
The course is aimed at both practitioners and top managers who want to gain insight into the latest Business Intelligence solutions, advanced risk management, process monitoring and complexity-based design and management.
1. Quantitative Complexity Management
Course Description:
The 3-day course on Quantitative Complexity Management (QCM) introduces a
unique way of looking at systems, processes and businesses from the point of view
of complexity. It is shown how risk and robustness may be approached in a novel
systemic manner, designed specifically for a turbulent context. Complexity
management software tools are introduced and demonstrated using numerous
examples spanning diverse fields.

LECTURER
Dr. Jacek Marczyk
Founder, Ontonix
Dr. Marczyk, the founder of
Ontonix, has over thirty years of
experience in Computer-Aided
Engineering in the aerospace,
automotive and off-shore
industries. He holds an MS in
Aeronautics Engineering
(Politecnico di Milano), MS in
Aerospace Engineering
(Politecnico di Torino) and a
Ph.D in Civil Engineering
(Universidad Politecnica de
Catalunya). In the mid 1990s he
has introduced to the industry
the first commercial tool for
large-scale stochastic simulation,
ST-ORM. He has pioneered
innovative methodologies for
uncertainty and complexity
management and has published
eight books on stochastic,
nonlinear mechanics and
complexity management. During
his career, he has worked for
EADS/CASA (Manager High
Performance Computing
Applications), BMW AG, Centric
Engineering Systems, ESI
(Director, Advanced Mechanics
Development), Silicon Graphics
(Director, Integrated Simulation),
Tecnomare, EASi Engineering
(Vice President, Advanced
Technologies) and MSC
Software (Chief Scientist). While
at MSC, he led the development
of award-winning MSC.Robust
Design. Holder of a US Patent,
Dr. Marczyk has developed a
new complexity-based theory of
risk and rating.
