2. What is religion?
• Religion is a set of belief and practices generally held
by a number of person.
• Religion can be also described as a way of life.
• Religion can take many forms and many aspects.
These include belief, ritual actions, ethical actions,
formation of religious communities.

3. • The Arabic word for religion is ‘deen’. It referred to a
number of things in the Quran. Such as:
a. The Day of judgment
b. The law and constitution
c. Belief and way of life.

• Religion is important for both individuals and
societies.
• Religion is a natural feeling of connection between
the human being and his Creator.
• Religion covers both psychological and social aspects
of life.

7. Importance of religion for the individuals.
• Religion has its impact on every part of human life.
• Humanistic Need.
• Allah has created all human beings with the need to
belief and to worship. Allah has taken such an oath
from all humans.
• Human beings have desires and needs that are
required to be maintained and organized by religion.

8. Intellectual Need
• Man is unable to explain to himself the mystery of
life, birth, death, infinity, eternity. Religion answers
these questions.
• Religion satisfies the highest human intellectual
theoretical needs.

9. Spiritual Need
• As humans have intellectual needs, he has spiritual
needs too, and only religion and belief can sustain
that needs.
• In today’s materialistic world religion is much needed
for a lot of psychological problems that face
humanity.

10. The Importance of Religion for Society
• Religion protects individual rights and brings stability
and fellow-feeling in the society.
• Religion treats everyone equally and with no
preference, to wealth, family status or any other
distinctions.
• Religion gives good ideal, explains the purpose and
objectives of society in which all can share.

11. Meaning of Islam
• The Arabic word “Islam” means submission,
surrender and obedience.
• As a religion Islam stands for complete submission
and obedience to Allah.
• A Muslim is one who submits to the will of Allah. The
word comes from the same root as the Arabic word
which means peace

12. • The religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve
true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must
submit to God and live according to His Divinelyrevealed law.

13. The Messages of all Prophets
• Islam is not a new message, but a continuation of the
simple and powerful message of pure monotheism

) revealed by Allah throughout the history.
• It is the same eternal message revealed throughout
the ages to all of Allah’s Prophets including Noah,
Moses, Jesus and Mohammad (pbuh)

14. Evidences of God’s Existence
• Evidence of Nature: The human nature that exists in
all mankind is inclined to believe in Allah.
• Evidence of Causation: It is logical and rational that
any creation must have a creator as nothing happens
by itself without sufficient reason for its existence.

15. Evidences of God’s Existence
• Evidence of Universe: Anyone who wonders about
the universe ( sea, lands, animals, sky) can see the
greatness of Allah’s creation.
• Evidence of Guidance: Allah not only created, but
also guided the creatures to play their role and
function in the universe.
