Inaugural IT HR Round Table
June 19, 2015 (Friday), Trident, HITEC City, Hyderabad
The Inaugural IT HR Round Table was held on
Friday, June 19, 2015 at Trident, HITEC City,
Hyderabad. A day-long affair, the discussions
revolved around the main theme of the conference,
“Changing Business Imperatives in IT – Developing
for Domain Innovation”.
A formal yet relaxed, participatory gathering where
presentations were organized with a strong focus
on discussing the ever changing business
imperatives of the Indian as well as global IT
sector, and the need to develop domain innovation
in IT organizations across HR minded people. There
were over 60 attendees.
The inaugural session saw a very thought provoking address from Mr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Executive
Chairman, Cyient Ltd. wherein he emphasized the need to develop domain innovation in the IT
sector, especially with the kind of growth that is envisaged for the sector in the times to come. Mr.
Reddy’s address was followed by an intriguing industry panel discussion comprising of
representatives from Tech Mahindra Ltd., IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Infosys Ltd. and Cognizant Technology
Solutions who also put forth their views on the relevance of domain innovation.
The round table was divided into 4 plenary sessions and 8 sub-topics, addressed by the HR Heads of
some of the marquee IT companies like, Cyient Ltd., Tech Mahindra, Wipro Technologies, Deloitte
Consulting India Pvt. Ltd., Zensar Technologies Ltd., IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Infosys Ltd., University of
Petroleum & Energy Studies, Capgemini India and L&T Infotech Ltd. Some of the topics discussed
during the round table were:

The feedback from participants, both via formal discussions and from anecdotal conversations on the
day, indicated a very high level of satisfaction with the event.

2. Event Report – Inaugural IT HR Round Table, June 19, 2015, Hyderabad
Purely on invitational basis, event expenses were covered and met through sponsorship support from
Cyient Ltd., and event partnership support from NASSCOM.
Major highlights included:
The round table was organized under the aegis of NASSCOM.
Mr. D.P. Singh, Vice President (HR), India/South Asia, IBM India Pvt. Ltd. was the program director.
Active role played by the program support team including Dr. Manish Prateek, Professor &
Associate Dean, Centre for Information Technology, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies and
other faculty members from UPES.
4 panelists participated to deliberate on their perspective of the chosen topic, representing Tech
Mahindra Ltd., IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Infosys Ltd. and Cognizant Technology Solutions during the
industry panel discussions.
12 speakers representing blue chip IT companies namely, Cyient Ltd., Tech Mahindra, Wipro
Technologies, Deloitte Consulting India Pvt. Ltd., Zensar Technologies Ltd., IBM India Pvt. Ltd.,
Infosys Ltd., University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Capgemini India and L&T Infotech Ltd.
also graced the occasion.
60 attendees plus from over 15 companies.
Consistent attendance of around 20 through the day.
The total organization of the event from beginning to end was handled by the corporate relations
team, headed by Ms. Alka Madhan, along with Mr. Vikas Narula and Ms. Prachi Bharadwaj under the
guidance of Mr. Utpal Ghosh and support of senior colleagues from the Career Services Team,
including Mr. Sujay Sengupta, who very ably compered the show.
