BANANA FLOUR Banana flour is made from the starchy Green Bananas. It is sometimes used as a food for invalids because it is starchy, filling and nutritious. It can be combined with regular flour when a starchy product is desired. The flour is very fine and is very useful for its moisture absorbing and holding properties. It is a good gluten-free product and can be used to make pancakes, bread, scones and cakes moist, lighter with a more airy texture. BANANA POWDER A new product with a potential commercial value is the banana powder made from fresh and ripe banana. Banana powder can be used as a mixture material for various cakes/breads (wet and dry cakes), and for infant feeding. Banana powder contains low gluten, so it could not be used as the main cake material. Therefore, to produce high quality cake, banana powder must be mixed with wheat flour Processing Method Remove banana fruits from the bunch. Steam for about 10 minutes to decrease sticky sap, improve the powder color and facilitate the peeling process. Peel and then slice into small pieces. Soak in 5% citric acid for about 30 minutes, then drain. Dry at a low temperature, until 10% moisture content is achieved. Mill and sift. Package and store in a closed, dry place. Benefits Banana powder can be used as a mixture material for various cakes/breads (wet and dry cakes), and for infant feeding. Banana powder contains low gluten, so it could not be used as the main cake material. Therefore, to produce high quality cake, banana powder must be mixed with wheat flour.
Dehydrated banana chips are produced in a way where the moisture is removed in a special drying process. The end product is reduced in weight by over 90%, keeping the volume the same. What's remarkable is that this concentrates the fresh product taste, vibrant texture, and natural color of fresh product in it's dehydrated state. When you go to rehydrated the dehydrated bananas , they will retain most of their texture and shape of the fresh product. Dehydrated banana chips are delicious, nutritious treats. They can make a convenient snack for the whole family just by themselves. They are easy to store and have a long shelf life. EAT BANANA CHIPS FOR YOUR GOOD HEALTH
Banana Fiber Banana Paper Production costs for banana paper are estimated to be less than one-fifth those of traditional pulp paper, and the capital investment costs just 3% of those required for pulp paper production. Pulp Paper compared to Banana Ply Paper BANANA PAPER
Banana ply paper is created using a variation on the techniques used by ancient Egyptians to make papyrus. Rather than pulping the banana fibre, the trunk is literally peeled down to individual layers that are up to eight metres long and as thin as cigarette paper. These layers are then pressed together at right angles to form the extremely strong material. The secret to holding the layers together is a natural chemical compound called lignin. Lignin is found in the cell walls of all plants where it conducts water and provides strength. It is removed at great expense during traditional paper manufacturing, but it is vital for banana ply paper's unique durability. Banana ply paper can be produced in various sizes and thicknesses ranging from fine tissue-like material for wrapping jewelry to thick cardboard crates. It can also be bleached to create high quality writing paper. The production line used to produce banana ply paper is about the size of a semi-trailer, which is compact enough that it can be easily installed onsite at banana plantations. It is designed to be installed alongside the packing shed at a banana farm, meaning that the trunks can be gathered using the same infrastructure required to gather the fruit. This reduces the use of transport, providing environmental and economical benefits.

Ethanol from Bananas There two different methods to produce Ethanol/Butanol from Bananas. The “Green” Bananas would be peeled, cut into thin strips, dried then ground; that would be Starch. Then you would add the alfa-amalase etc and do the same as standard grain ethanol production. Let the Bananas ripen into a converted sugar, then peel them, then no enzymes would be needed. After that follow through with the same continuous process after using a vibrating screen or decanter to filter the solids add the yeast and let ferment. Bananas when ripe contain 22% sugar. The sugar content is a direct indication of the amount of ethanol in the sugar 22% sugar indicate 11% alcohol.

The world demand for palm oil is expected to increase from its present 22.5 million tons a year to 40 million tons in 2020. Individual oil palm fruit are drupes with an oily, fibrous mesocarp . As in many palms, fruits are drupes. The mesocarp and endocarp vary in thickness, with dura types having thick endocarps and less mesocarp, and tenera types the opposite. The exocarp color is green changing to orange at maturity in virescens types, and orange with brown or black cheek colors in the nigrescens types. Fruit range in size from <1" to 2", and are obovoid in shape. The mesocarp, from which palm oil is derived, is fibrous and oily, and the seed is opaque white, encased in a brown endocarp; palm kernel oil is derived from seeds. The female infructescence contains 200-300 fruit, and fruit set is 50-70%. Fruit ripen about 5-6 months after pollination. Palm oil
Banana Waste Creates New Products ,[object Object]
Vitamins and minerals are abundant in the banana, offering 123 I.U. of vitamin A for the large size. A full range of B vitamins are present with .07 mg of Thiamine, .15 mg of Riboflavin, .82 mg Niacin, .88 mg vitamin B6, and 29 mcg of Folic Acid. There are even 13.8 mg of vitamin C. On the mineral scale Calcium counts in at 9.2 mg, Magnesium 44.1 mg, with trace amounts of iron and zinc. I have developed a fat replacement from ripe banana that can replace margarine and butter, it is fat free with the same characteristics as butter. I have also developed new dietary banana fibers utilizing the complete Banana plant. The fibers from the Green bananas and the Ripe bananas maintain all of it’s nutritional value. The waste banana can be used for the production of Ethanol, Bio-fuels, paper Banana
