Port of Eden’s blessing at its annual whale festival
John Kewa’s Kembla MTS team has
been visiting Eden port for ship visiting
purposes since the death of the Revd
Jim Pether until we can establish a
permanent base. It will be necessary
for us to relocate from our present Eden
mission premises. As part of Eden’s
summer celebrations the town had a
rousing Whale Festival and John Kewa
was delighted to join an ecumenical
group of locals that conducted a
liturgy of blessing of the waters of
Twofold Bay, of all seafarers and the
migratory whales that visit there.

that Honorio Hincapie is to replace in pastoral ministry, counselling and
Gladstone ‘s MTS chaplain Trevor Phillips psychology Honorio is ideally suited to
who has recently left our seafarers’ look after the many seafarers visiting MTS
centre. Honorio has been volunteering Gladstone. Port Kembla’s loss is
with our mission at Port Kembla. With a Gladstone’s great gain. Good luck
