WORK EXPERIENCE
Management of green-fields and brown fields exploration for industrial minerals in which Benzu
Minerals has an interest, principally Gold, Iron Ore, Coal, Base Metals. Also evaluating new
opportunities as they arise.
With Benzu Minerals, we offer consultancy:
•Manage multi-commodity exploration throughout West Africa
•Management of advanced stage exploration programs
•Recruitment and development West Africa Exploration team
•Geological evaluation and exploration
•Project evaluation, planning and execution
•Management of overall site operations
•Government liaison and reporting
Since completing his PhD in applied geology in 1988 at University of Franche-Comté, Besançon, France, I
have been working with some of the largest mining companies in the world: Anglo American Corp, Anglo
Gold Ashanti and BHP Billiton; but I have also worked for junior companies (Boliden International Mining,
Sanu Resources) as well as an independent consultant.
During these 25 years I have undertaken exploration in different African countries (Burkina Faso, Niger,
Togo, Mali, Guinea, Liberia, South Africa, DRC, Ethiopia and Tanzania), looking for various commodities -
base metal (Cu, Pb, Zn), gold, iron ore and bauxite – hosted in a variety of mineral deposit types. I’m
highly regarded as a very methodical and conscientious geologist, with a proven track record of
discoveries in Africa. He is fluent in French and English as well in West African dialects.
By working in various parts of Africa, I have acquired a very unique technical knowledge of the geology of
Africa and its mineral deposits, but also the fundamental experience in managing different cultures and
diversity; as such he has a general competence in how to successfully undertake exploration business in
many African countries.
Furthermore, I have a wide network of contacts throughout Africa and excellent relationships with
Government officials as well as mining companies operating on the continent. In terms of “soft skills”, I
have demonstrated throughout my career excellent leadership ability and a people management style
that is particularly suited for the African cultures.
CHIEF GEOLOGIST OF BENZU MINERALS, consulting company (December 2013 to date)

SNapon Work Experience Report_2013 2
From data compilation, integration and interpretation I have decided to visit Gabon,
Tanzania, DRC, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Uganda. In these different countries I have
collected data from Ministry of Mines, the Geological survey.
During the field visit, I use to take GPS tracking and points recording. In addition, I use to take
representative samples (grab, channel) for gold and multi elements assays. The assay results
are interpreted and include into the evaluation reports
By this exercise, I have recommended several opportunities. Base on my recommendations
Benzu Resources has acquired opportunities in five countries (DRC for Cu-Co, Tanzania for
Au, Ethiopia for Au and Base Metals, Guinea for Fe, Burkina Faso for Au)
 Recruit exploration manpower
In Tanzania, DRC, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso, I have identified and select key personal
(exploration manager and senior geologists) to run the exploration
 Exploration programs and budgets
 Projects field work assessment
On monthly basis I visit each project to ensure that the work is performed at good standard
and according to the time schedule and budget. I use to audit:
- Soil sampling grid, mapping
- Trenches sampling
- Drilling sampling and logging
- Quality Control process
- Field camp
- Safety, Health, Environment and Community relations
 Reporting
Usually after each visit I write a report on the work and results of each project. This report is
submitted to Benzu Technical Director who then sends it to the board

My role has consisted of
 Day to day management. Make sure that all employees are at work
 Recruit the exploration team workers based on interviews
 Plan the budget and the work program and submit to the African Exploration Management
Team for approval.
 Field work has consisted of auditing the work to ensure that procedures and protocols are
respected
 Reporting weekly, monthly and quarterly to BHP Billiton Exploration Manager for Africa
EXPLORATION MANAGER OF SANU RESOURCES (2005 to 2006)
My main tasks were
 Targets generation using desktop data compilation and integration follow by field visits
 Manage mineral exploration on five licences in Burkina Faso (Moule, Nieyene, Lotto,
Tondiata, Kodiel and Lati).
 The field work has consisted of geological mapping to identify favourable shear zones for
gold mineralisation. Rock and soil sampling over shear zones.
 Liaise with the Government authorities
SNapon Work Experience Report_2013 3
 Monthly report to SANU Resources board
SENIOR GEOLOGIST FOR ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (2003 to 2005).
I was leading a team for gold exploration in Southern Mali on the Kola licence adjacent to Morila
gold mine (6 Moz) and Bassala another licence adjacent to Kalana deposit.
 Exploration program planning
 Budget motivation
 Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
 Geophysics, geochemistry data interpretation
 Drilling planning
In addition I was running targets generation over South Mali Birimian Belts from desktop
data gathering, integration and interpretation to field truthing.
SENIOR GEOLOGIST AT ANGLO AMERICAN EXPLORATION DIVISION (JOHANNESBURG OFFICE). July
2002 to July 2003
In Democratic Republic of Congo, I was leading a team to explore for Cu-Co and Zn Kipushi
type deposits over 20,000km2 licences area in the Katanga copper belt.
