Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada - January 28, 2016. - The Spirit Ridge Owner Association (“SROA”), representing 450+ owners, decided by super majority at an EGM held May 2nd, 2015 to terminate Calgary- based Bellstar Hotels and Resorts’ Rental Management Agreement. The transition to new rental management takes full effect today.
The SROA is represented by their elected Board of Directors – they direct the resort which was previously known as “Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort and Spa”. They oversee the contracted management of their 226- condominium style resort located in Osoyoos, BC. The new resort brand name “Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP Resort” represents a new era under an ‘executive self-management’ model. This progressive model embraces, amongst other things, a unified community leadership approach. The management is engaging suppliers, contractors, and staff in the local community, with priority in aligning with aboriginally-owned products and experiences.

FRESH START FOR OWNERS AT SPIRIT RIDGE AT NK’MIP
RESORT
Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada - January 28, 2016. - The Spirit Ridge Owner Association (“SROA”),
representing 450+ owners, decided by super majority at an EGM held May 2nd
, 2015 to terminate Calgary-
based Bellstar Hotels and Resorts’ Rental Management Agreement. The transition to new rental
management takes full effect today.
The SROA is represented by their elected Board of Directors – they direct the resort which was previously
known as “Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort and Spa”. They oversee the contracted management of their 226-
condominium style resort located in Osoyoos, BC. The new resort brand name “Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP
Resort” represents a new era under an ‘executive self-management’ model. This progressive model
embraces, amongst other things, a unified community leadership approach. The management is engaging
suppliers, contractors, and staff in the local community, with priority in aligning with aboriginally-owned
products and experiences.
“Before this”, says Mike Campol, the incoming Director of Operations, “money spent by the resort in various
departments was deployed by a group based outside of the South Okanagan. One could argue that the
group’s collective buying power saved a few pennies. This, however, is not our business model. We need to
support our destination marketing organizations, local operators, and community, and create job growth
opportunities right outside our doorstep. So far, our new suppliers and products are substantially locally
and aboriginally sourced”. Mike Campol is fervent about community engagement, as he sits on the Town
Council of Osoyoos and runs a charity supporting youth participation in sports.
“We are so excited as a Board to see the new changes coming into effect. This is such a breath of fresh air
and I can’t wait for the transition to fully develop”, says Del Hunter, an SROA Director. “We have
experienced some transitional hiccups from the previous management company, which is to be expected.
We are overjoyed that finally we can showcase Spirit Ridge’s distinctive and uniquely Canadian presence as
the premier resort embracing First Nations experiences.”
Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP Resort is definitely embracing their tag line: “Community, Unity, Prosperity”. It’s hard
to fathom how one can exist without the other. It has done a great job in positioning the resort as THE
‘only’ Spirit Ridge. www.thespiritridge.com
