2. VERB

A verb is an action or state.

Example Words-
add
allow
bake
bang
call
chase
Damage
……..any action word
EnglishClub.com is a web site. I like EnglishClub.com.

3. Noun

A noun is a person, place, thing or idea.

Examples- pen, dog, work, music, town, London, teacher, John

Names are considered Nouns.

Places are considered Nouns also.

This is my dog. He lives in my house. We live in London.

4. Adjective

An Adjective is something that describes a noun.

Examples- a/an, the, two, some, good, big, red, well, interesting

I have two dogs. My dogs are big. I like big dogs.

5. Adverb

An Adverb describes a verb or adjective… sometimes an other
adverb.

Examples- quickly, silently, well, badly, very, really.

My dog eats quickly. When he is very hungry, he eats really quickly.

6. Pronoun

A pronoun replaces a noun.

Exapmle- I, you, he, she, some

Tara is Indian. She is beautiful.

7. Preposition

A preposition links a noun to another word.

Example- to, at, after, on, but

We went to school on Monday.

8. Conjunction

A conjunction joins clauses or sentences or words.

Examples- and, but, when

I like dogs and I like cats. I like cats and dogs. I like dogs but I don't
like cats.

9. Interjection

A interjection is a short exclamation, sometimes inserted into a
sentence.

Examples- oh!, ouch!, hi!, well.

Ouch! That hurts! Hi! How are you? Well, I don't know.

Ex) I love playing at the park. (Place)
Ex) My new chair is shiny white. (Thing)

4) The dog ran fast.

7) Exploring the forest is loads of fun.
