SAP LT Replication Server comes with an own instance; co-deployment with SAP Business Suite instances is possible to run LT on the “same box”. The generic data acquisition concept is implemented in ABAP and needs to be installed on the SAP Business Suite system through deploying the so called “DMIS add-on”. Connection from SAP Business Suite system to LT server is established via RFC. SAP LT Replication Server is also able to connect to non-SAP systems as well. In that case LT server connects via odbc to the source system and data acquisition logic remains on the LT server side, calling into the non-SAP source system.Data acquisition logic on ERP side:DB trigger write information about which data records were inserted, changed or deleted into so called Logging tables. Read modules access that information later on to determine which data records need to be replicated into the target SAP HANA system(s).Data replication logic on LT side:Controller modules are the interface between Read modules and write modules. They manage that changed data is shuffled from source systems to dedicated target systems. They “monitor” the successful update in the target system as well.SAP HANA side:No additional logic implemented on SAP HANA side. SAP HANA inbound solution as implemented by LT is about synchronizing data sets of the same table in two different systems in real-time mode.
