3. FONT As mentioned previously I want my magazine to have the element of consistency so I have decided to have some fonts the same as previous fonts displayed on the front cover. The ‘Word Up’ is in purple and will be in the same font as ‘Word-Up’ shown on the front cover which is displayed as bold. It is also presented at a slight angle so that it builds contrast and makes the magazine look edgier. The ‘Meets’ is presented in yellow because again I want the element of yellow within my colour scheme but to also show the audience the friendlier side to the magazine since yellow is a warm and friendly colour and the word is ‘meets’ which is friendly too. The ‘Tiana’ will be in the same font as on the front cover which will be handmaid font using software like paint and will be thin and purple and maybe in italics. The ‘‘I’M NOT YOUR ORDINARY GIRL’’will be black or white depending on what I make the background colour and the text may change also. As in this could have ‘I’m not your ordinary teenage girl’ or something that doesn’t make the quote seem broad. As shown the font will be capitalised and will be in bold to show contrast. The page number will be in the same font as previous page, black and bold.
4. MAIN GRAPHIC As displayed the main graphic will take up the majority of the first page and will be the woman displayed on the front cover. From my research of double page spreads in magazines such as ‘Hip Hop Connection’ I saw that there was one main graphic that took up both pages on the double page spread so I decided to add my own twist to that convention. The woman will be wearing the same clothes as shown on the front cover to have the element of continuity. The shot will be a long shot so that audience can see she’s got attitude and read her facial expressions. Additionally she will be holding a microphone to show that the woman in the shot is a singer. There will be a spotlight shown on her so that this makes her stand out and grab the attention of the reader. Also a spotlight will be shown to convey that she is the main focus of the article and that everything about within the article will be about her. There will be shooting stars at the bottom where her feet in purple and yellow which I haven’t decided if they will be different shades. I decided to have shooting stars at the bottom to show that she is a rising star and that she is new to the music industry.
5. OTHER GRAPHICS I decided to include other graphics as looking at magazines such as ‘Hip Hop Weekly’ I saw that they done this and I do want my magazine to include some typical conventions that professional magazines have. I decided to have three photos as I knew it would fit the page better and I want the audience to know that the woman displayed isn’t all about ‘attitude’ but she also has a bubbly side too as the graphics shows. The graphics will have a yellow outline as I think this will go good against the white/black background and contrasts the purple. I also decided to use a variety of shots to portray the woman’s variety in personality so was done to reflect her. Additionally I decided to place the graphics at the left hand side of the page because I don’t want it to be the main focus of the magazine but also I think that this wouldn’t interrupt the content within the double page spread when presented here.
