Feedback from media industry professionals
1. Feedback from Media
Industry Professionals
Earlier this week me & my class were given the opportunity to present
our media products to a judging panel of different media industry
professionals, after judging our work they then gave us valuable
feedback . In this slideshow I will be assessing their feedback and
looking at what I have learned from it.

2. Anna Higgs – Head of
Film4.0
Anna was very impressed by many parts of
our trailer, she said she thought our
controlled use of the camera, choice of
sound track & use of shot transitions all
had the ‘wow factor’. She also indicated
that she thought the storyline was very
clear and appropriate for target audience.
Lastly, she said that the genre of our trailer
was very clear.
Overall, the feedback we received from Anna Higgs was very positive. She said that
our controlled use of the camera was ‘wow factor’, this demonstrates how using a
tripod has improved the quality of our trailer. Another thing Anna said was that our
choice of soundtrack also had the ‘wow factor’, this means she thought it fitted the
synopsis and helped generate excitement in the trailer. One other part of our trailer
Anna thought had the ‘wow factor’ was our appropriate use of shot transitions, we are
happy to hear this as we spent a lot of time picking the right transitions while editing
our trailer.
One of our main aims when making our trailer was for the audience to understand the
storyline clearly and not be left confused, after watching our trailer Anna Higgs
indicated that she got it, this means we achieved our aim.
3. Christine Blundell – Oscar
winning make-up artist.
Christine Blundell said that many parts of
our trailer had the ‘wow factor’. She said
we paid good attention to composition
and framing of shots, and used a good
variety of different shots.
Also, she said we made lots of effort with
our mise-en-scene, and makeup effects
which both had the ‘wow factor’.
Christine also indicated that she clearly
understood our trailer, however she
thought the genre wasn't expressed
enough.
Christine’s feedback shows that our close attention to framing and composition was
worth the effort and was reflected in our trailer. While filming our trailer we tried our
best to use a variety of different shot types, Christine noticed this while watching our
trailer. Christine said our use of makeup and special effects had the ‘wow factor’ this is
extremely impressive as she is an Oscar award winning makeup artist , and the person
that gave us the advice on how to create low budget makeup effects.
Christine said that the horror genre of our film was not that clear, this is slightly
negative, & if we ever got the chance to redo the trailer I would try add more shots that
would help express the horror genre.
