2. Synopsis
✤
My short film is a Social Realist drama, revolving around
the relationship between two brothers.
✤
The youngest of the brothers plays a series of pranks on
the other as a joke, which renders his attempts to clean the
house before his mother comes home.
✤
The elder brother loses his tempter, and in his anger hits
his brothers head against a wall unintentionally.
✤
The brother turns out alright, but still: they are both
shaken.

3. Style
✤
Social Realism: A genre that aims to represent a specific group of
people within a specific space of time.
✤
Camera: As my film takes place within the space of a middle sized
house house, I would like camera to emphasise the confines of these
borders. In addition, I would like to emulate the slow pace and
monotony of both the procedure of caring for someone and a typical
domestic situation through long takes.
✤
Lighting: I am going to film this short in the dark, and therefore will
need to make use of artificial electric lighting.

4. Sound/Music

For this short film, I will not employ any music. I think it would be
easier to build an atmosphere through this. My specific genre is Social
Realism, and therefore I am obliged to adhere to its conventions. One
of these is a minimal amount of non-diegetic music. Below are
examples of short films in my genre that don’t use a soundtrack.
