• German host families live in both urban and rural areas
• ISE students visiting Germany will likely have the
opportunity to attend school with a host sibling
• German families typically eat fresh bread or crusty rolls
with cheese, cold cuts and jam for breakfast, sometimes
accompanied by a soft-boiled egg
• In German Gymnasien, the students usually stay in one
classroom, and the teachers come to them
• Popcorn in German movie theaters is sugared, not salted
