Several times during meditation suddenly the idea came to my mind to write about Mother. But I am fully
aware what the Lord said when he was asked to speak about Radha Tatwa on the occasion of his first visit to
Bombay in 1918. When Lord himself is unable to fathom the deep esoteric significance of Sri Radhaji who
am I to speak about it and I remained silent.
Mathrusri revealed to a devotee that we can never know who She is unless she affords us a glimpse. She said
“ I am the power behind this universe. I am both Purusha and Prakriti. Sri Haranath is a form of myself ”.
Let us now study our Lord’s letters and especially those He wrote to Mathrusri in respect to Kusuma Kumari
Devi who is nothing else but Radha.
“You are the consciousness incarnate of the world. Anyone you forget is deprived of consciousness. You are
the basic foundation of the world, the primal energy which creates, sustains and destroys the universe. May
your favour be always showered on me! You are the fullest manifestation of energy. The world so replete
with trails and tribulations you have filled with joy. The world comes to an end if your powers remain
suspended even for a moment. The fierce energy of males would have burned everything, even the smallest
insects and flies. Only by virtue of your tenderness have you kept this fierce energy neutralized and are
maintaining harmony of the universe. Those who have realized your nature are rare indeed. May I never be
so fascinated by your outer covering so as to grope about like a blind man! A man who is denied your grace
becomes blind for ever and leaves his soul. May I feel the simple and tender yearning you have! You are the
respectable of all that is manifest in the universe. Unless you bring forth and maintain nothing whatever can
exist. Gold, silver, rubies are nothing but earth. Similarly you, I, dogs, cats, trees, insects, whatever is visible
are Prakriti and nothing else.
It is for you that Krishna shed incessant tears during the entire period of His incarnation as Gauranga. Had
we not been related in our present worldly connection as husband and wife I would have bowed down to you
million and million of times. Dearest, you do exactly what I want you to do and say exactly what I want you
to say, that is why I love you so, I am in you, you are in me. I am nothing without you”.
Oh Mother Kusuma Kumari Devi! you revealed in Your world message that it is the universal Mother’s love
that has brought you down this time to the world, that it is the play of Love that has created and
encompassed this universe and that it is love that has sustained it in the past and will sustain it for ever. In
this your message you asked us to become totally pure – your living reports. “I want your love” you said. Oh
Goddess you reign supremely over the heart of the Lord, you are the empress of Rasa lila and it is you who
bestow Bhakti for the Lord, You are the essence of Prema. Nobody can reach the Lord who has not been
blessed by you and whose soul has not received strength and support from you.

2. Your love is so enchanting, so powerful that in Your desire to bestow happiness on the Lord you created
other forms without giving up your own. Oh Pradana Gopinee so you became also lalita, vishakha, Chitra,
Indulekha, Champakalata, Rangadevi, Tungavidya and Sudevi and they again expanded further into friends,
servants, playmates, all being expression of different phases of Prema.
When Lord Krishna left for Mathura the Gopies were heartbroken. They gathered on the banks of the
Yamuna and poured out their hearts to one another “why did He not take us with him? When He returns I
will ask for a boon like to play Rasa lila every day with Him. Another wanted Him to accept butter from Her
hands, another wished to fan Him.
Radha was only listening without saying a word. When the Gopies questioned Her about Her wishes, She
said “if I have desire I will offer that desire at his Lotus feet. Whatever is His will that is my will. His
happiness is my happiness”.
Likewise oh mother let us love and live for the Lord. Our love must be aimless, causeless and absolutely
selfless. We should have no desires and surrender totally everything to you Oh beloved Kusuma Hara. You
know best what is necessary for us and give that at the proper time. You are the most liberal of givers and
you love us crazily. Your words “only love is my nature, I cannot but love and do not judge your merits or
demerits” are constantly ringing in my ears. When we daily intensify our desire for Prema, immerse
ourselves in Nama Japa, make our hearts wide and pure, offer ourselves up for other Ma, you will surely
bless us and hand us over to the Lord. Now is your play of causeless mercy and love enacted. Oh my Yugal
Prabhu it pains me then I think of your words “I am ready to give my dry love to anybody who would accept
it. My only regret is that none accepts it” You have come more than halfway down to us to take us into your
arms and are anxiously awaiting us.
This world is a large theatre and we are all here to play our parts for the pleasure of the Master. Let us
therefore play our parts well so that the Master may be pleased and the audience also.
Oh, Lord you considered all men as fathers and all women as Mothers and endeared yourself to us as child
playing in Vatsalya Bhava with us. You are the Master Player, you are writing the script and we are
instruments in your hands. May we realize that it is you who is pulling the strings on which we move and act
and think and surrender totally, feeling that we are yours, that everything is yours.
O Maha-Maya some you allow to float, some you make go down, while others in your grace you show the
way to the eternal resort of Brindavan. One, who has understood you, has realized God. Can everyone have
Your vision, taste Your love? This, the rarest treasure of all no earthly wealth can buy.
You draw around yourself a thick veil of impenetrable mystery and none but the most ardent devotees are
permitted to understand even an infinitesimal fraction of Your glory.
One must play what one has come to play in one’s life. Even before we came what we have to do become
fixed.
If we dress ourselves as Karta there is no end of Karma. Karma ends if we know that all work is Kusuma
Hara’s work. Every minute our thoughts, deeds must all be regarded as His. We must live according to his
ideas and desires and always bear in mind that it is Lord Kusuma Hara who has occupied our mind, body
and is guiding and loving us. He is playing through me, speaking through me and everything in Kusuma
Hara. This and the total immersion in His holy Name will definitely install more and more Prema in our
hearts for Him, all mundane things will lose our attraction and eventually fade away and we will come up to
our Yugal Prabhu’s expectation.
