Why this topic?

Challenges in transitions of lifelong learning
   adapting to new physical & virtual environments
   different teaching and learning approaches
   live, learn and work within new communities
Transition from SE to HE
   students feel lost in HE > ineffective learning
   students lack learning to learn competences
    necessary in HE
   high dropout rates in early HE years
Why this topic?
 Effective learning to learn competences
  help learners to deal with transitions more
  effectively.
 ICT (Social networks, digital media, serious
  games, virtual worlds, ePortfolio and blogs)
   may support development of learning to learn
    competences.
   If the same approaches/tools are used
    throughout SE and HE the transition phase may
    be easier for students and more effective in
    terms of learning.

Challenges in transitions of lifelong learning  adapting to new physical & virtual environments  different teaching and learning approaches  live, learn and work within new communities Transition from SE to HE  students feel lost in HE > ineffective learning  students lack learning to learn competences necessary in HE  high dropout rates in early HE years
  • 4. Why this topic?  Effective learning to learn competences help learners to deal with transitions more effectively.  ICT (Social networks, digital media, serious games, virtual worlds, ePortfolio and blogs)  may support development of learning to learn competences.  If the same approaches/tools are used throughout SE and HE the transition phase may be easier for students and more effective in terms of learning.
