Research Workshop
Webinar on Social Networks
22nd October, 2012

2. I learn to learn… I like to learn… eLene2Learn
eLene2learn forms a multi-stakeholder
network, exploring and promoting the
contribution of ICT and digital media in
supporting the development of learning to
learn competencies in lifelong learning
transitions.
9 European partners and their national

3. Why this topic?
Challenges in transitions of lifelong learning
adapting to new physical & virtual environments
different teaching and learning approaches
live, learn and work within new communities
Transition from SE to HE
students feel lost in HE > ineffective learning
students lack learning to learn competences
necessary in HE
high dropout rates in early HE years
4. Why this topic?
Effective learning to learn competences
help learners to deal with transitions more
effectively.
ICT (Social networks, digital media, serious
games, virtual worlds, ePortfolio and blogs)
may support development of learning to learn
competences.
If the same approaches/tools are used
throughout SE and HE the transition phase may
be easier for students and more effective in
terms of learning.
