2. The Company
In 2002 a team of skilled engineers, after a decade of common experience in rolling stock
development for a primary italian rolling stock manufacturer, decided to create an indipendent
engineering and consultancy company: New Rail Engineering.
The experience and the understanding of the founders, current members of New Rail
Engineering, from the beginning has allowed a high-level position, confirmed over the years by
the appreciation of customers for the quality of services in research and development of rolling
stock.
The company has built partnerships with well known specialists and realities and could, thus,
grow and expand the services offered with a wide performance range, consolidating an already
extensive experience.
Today New Rail Engineering can provide engineering and project management covering all phases
of the birth of a rail vehicle.
New Rail Engineering has acquired in the two decades of experience of its team, a deep
knowledge of Italian and foreign rolling stock and, more generally, of the railway system, logistics
and public transport.
Relationship and team oriented job approach allow the company to work with full autonomy and
responsibility or, elsewhere, in team with customer specialists, according to specific customer
needs.

of several projects of rolling stock, the participation in research projects at national and European
level and working in joint ventures with foreign partner(in Europe, South America and Japan).

8. SYSTEM ENGINEERING
The setting of the technical activities of a supply as complex and articulated as a railway
vehicle is essential for optimal development of the contract activities: design, construction,
purchase.
The technical framework of the contract must allow to highlight, from the earliest stages of
setting, the critical aspects in order that their effects on the activities can be properly
planned and managed.
This activity has, therefore, a fundamental role in the technical and economic success of the
job and is configured as an interdisciplinary link between the offer and project: it cannot be
be left to a soloist, as experienced and capable, but it requires different skills and therefore
different professionals. It is foundamental to involve in this activity Company’s key personnel
who will manage the project and also the ones who defined the offer.

11. Homologation
ITALIAN NATIONAL RAIL NETWORK HOMOLOGATION (ANSF / RFI)
The experience allows New Rail Engineering to support its customers in all phases of
technical admission of vehicles to Italian National Rail Network:
• Identification of the VIS who, for its carachteristics and competences, is the best to
manage the specific homologation;
• Realisation, verification of technical documents required for homologation;
• Interface with VIS;
• Suppot to the Customer in the fase of use and maintenance handbooks realisation (for
already existing vehicles)
On the other side, New Rail Engineering can offer to VIS high qualified personnel who can
work as External Evaluator.
12. Homologation
ITALIAN REGIONAL RAILWAYS (MINISTRY OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT)
New Rail Engineering has to his credit innumerable projects and practices of acceptance with
the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
In this field New Rail Engineering can support its Customer in all the activities defined in
Reference Norm (Ministry Disposition 201/1983 and Law 28.10.2005 on “Fire safety in
tunnels”)
