Grand Bay
What to See? Grand Bay was the first area of the island to fully experience the tourist
boom. A shopping and leisure paradise, Grand Bay also happens to be
the area where Mauritian head for when they want a fun-filled night out
(restaurants, bars and discos). Recently renovated, La Cuvette beach is well
worth a visit.
Pereybère
The wonderful Pereybere public beach is popular because of its shopping
facilities, restaurants and pubs
Balaclava Ruins
A few meters away from Baie aux Tortues, which 17th century sailors
named after the many tortoises in the area, can be found the ruins of the
old Balaclava estate. Visitors will be able to see the sea walls, whose initial
foundations were laid down by Mahé de Labourdonnais.
The Triolet Shivala
The longest village on the island, Triolet offers an opportunity to visit the
biggest Hindu temple, the Maheswarnath, first built in 1819 in honor of the
Gods Shiva, Krishna, Vishnu, Muruga, Brahma and Ganesha.
The Labourdonnais Orchards
Discover a large variety of tropical fruit trees, colorful and perfumed exotic
flowers. Trips on mountain bikes or hiking are possible.
Marine life:
Mauritius boasts a huge range of sea treasures and infinite
wealth. The Mauritian sea never fails to surprise: multi-
colored fish, moray eels, magnificent coral beds.
Skin-diving masks, flippers and scuba diving equipments.
Enjoy one of the happiest experiences in the world! Whether
you are in a diving suit or in a submarine, Mauritius can
introduce you to the secrets of its submarine world.
One of the most spectacular ways to explore the ocean beds
is to go on board the Blue Safari submarine. You will enjoy

Feynan Eco-lodge
(Dana, Jordan) Escape the beaten path. A sensory experience awaits.
“This is an incredible lodge in a beautiful place run by
remarkably nice people.” Edtravels too much, TripAdvisor.
Deep in the heart of the mountainous Dana Biosphere Reserve,
at the end of a rugged track, an idyllic candle-lit lodge rests in the
magnificent Wadi Feynan.
Here, set against the glorious desert landscape, guests staying at
the 26-room lodge can be found adventuring through the untouched
outdoors, sipping mint tea with the native Bedouin, exploring local
archaeological sites or simply unwinding in the serene courtyards and
terraces of the candle-lit complex; safe in the knowledge that they are
vacationing in a socially and environmentally-responsible way.
Hailed as one of the top fifty ecolodges in the world by National
Geographic Adventure Magazine, the solar powered Feynan Ecolodge
offers the most developed eco-experience in Jordan; an experience
made possible by a unique partnership between EcoHotels and
the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, a Jordanian NGO
