The process of aluminium anodizing is often used as a perfect way to finish and colour the

as an electrochemical conversion process where the metal surface is converted to aluminium
oxide as a result of various reactions on going at the anode in an acidic solution. Usually, the
oxide formation gets inward and then towards the fresh aluminium. Eventually, the very first
formed oxide remains in contact with the anodic solution during the whole process with the
last formed being at the metal interface. The final coating will be thicker than the original metal
replaced.
The mill product type, worth, alloys etc. have significant effects on the final appearance of the
aluminium, its functional properties such as corrosion resistance and abrasion. To get the very
best, the finisher must have good knowledge on how the metal needs to be treated. In fact, if
you want the colour of the aluminium changes, the finisher can use coloured anodizing dye.
Usually, the used dye soaks into the tiny pores of the anodized layer and colours the aluminium.
