2. Dryland Systems targets:
• Improved crop, trees and livestock productivity in target
areas
• New agribusiness and market opportunities –
diversification of production systems and adding value to
agricultural production
• Increased capacity of vulnerable smallholder farmers to
adapt to climate change
• Equitable access to natural resources and better resource
management
• Innovation platforms – access to new knowledge for
policy makers and all other actors in target areas

3. What do we aim to achieve?
Goal of the workshop:
Provide a platform to build-up and develop a West
Africa Sahel and Dry Savanna regional –level work
plan that is consistent with the CRP proposal

Five million hectares of millet production in Faidherbia
parklands in Niger: a transformed agricultural system

5. What do we aim to achieve?
Specific objectives:
• Work plans development per action site (WBS & KKM),
including priority research activities
• Define key partners and their roles
• Discuss elements for capacity development plan, cross
cutting themes, regional governance etc.
• Allocation of responsibilities amongst partners and
available budgets
• Work towards the development of a knowledge network
for sharing lessons and experiences
