3. The BIG WHY for the Fear of the Lord
The Fear of the Lord creates a supernatural energy, supernatural vision,
ability and even supernatural expectation. The Fear of the Lord is
actually the effect of the Presence of God. It empowers and liberates at
the appropriate times and constrains and retains when such actions are
concomitant with wisdom. Here are Five By-Products of the Fear of
God:
Unity 1Sa 11:7 And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in
pieces, and sent [them] throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of
messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after
Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of the LORD fell
on the people, and they came out with one consent.
Prosperity 2Ch 14:14 And they smote all the cities round about Gerar;
for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities;
for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
Security 2Ch 17:10 And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the
kingdoms of the lands that [were] round about Judah, so that they made
no war against Jehoshaphat.
Activity/Plan 2Ch 19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be
upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our
God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
Purifier 2Ch 19:9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in
the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

4. All of life is designed to operate out of fear: Fear of the Lord and the
Fear of Man/Death. Some may argue that we should operate out of Faith,
but true Faith is born out of an encounter with the Sovereign God, to
which there is no record that the response to that presence is anything but
Fear (respect) of the Lord.
A Case Study on the Fear of the Lord
The Fear of the Lord is not a standard
tablecloth that just covers everything.
It actually conforms the person and/or
people in the situation in order to emerge
successful.
One of the earliest and most significant
events in which the Fear of the Lord is
clearly demonstrated is with the Exodus.
As a condition necessary for any mission,
the Fear of the Lord [FOTL] begins with one man or woman confronted
and engaged with a divine transformational (first of its kind) or
transactional encounter.
FOTL hit Moses first before it affected anyone else. FOTL requires a
host individual, then and only then can it function as intended. In the
case of Moses FOTL:
Extricated the people out of bondage
Activated favor among the nations
Activated favor with God
Activated favor with man
Initiated the great Transfer of Wealth
Caused the people to obey

5. Facts about the Fear of the Lord
There was never a move of God Man could not manufacture it

The enemy couldn’t stop it Wisdom
1. Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom; and to
depart from evil [is] understanding.
2. Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD [is] clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the
LORD [are] true [and] righteous altogether.
3. Psa 34:11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
4. Psa 111:10 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding
have all they that do [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.
5. Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise
wisdom and instruction.
6. Pro 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
7. Pro 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of
God.
8. Pro 8:13 The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil
way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
9. Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of
the holy [is] understanding.
10. Pro 10:27 The fear of the LORD prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be
shortened.
11. Pro 14:26 In the fear of the LORD [is] strong confidence: and his children shall have a
place of refuge.
12. Pro 14:27 The fear of the LORD [is] a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of
death.
13. Pro 15:16 Better [is] little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble
therewith.
14. Pro 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is
humility.
15. Pro 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD [men]
depart from evil.
16. Pro 19:23 The fear of the LORD [tends] to life: and [he that hath it] shall abide
satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
17. Pro 22:4 By humility [and] the fear of the LORD [are] riches, and honor, and life.
18. Pro 23:17 Let not your heart envy sinners: but [be thou] in the fear of the LORD all the
day long.
