3. Athens – A day in the life
• Girls got married in their teens to men in their 30’s.
• Woman done house hold jobs like spinning, sewing,
weaving, cooking and other household jobs.
• Spent most of their time in the house with other
women.
• Woman only left the house for religious duty's.
• Young Boys could go to school at the age of seven.
• Young girls stayed home and learned from their
mother.
4. Athens - Government
• Every year 500 names are drawn from the
citizens of Athens, all of the 500 that are
drawn have to serve for the law.
• Athens had no king they were ruled by the
citizens voting.
• The people of Athens came up with the idea
of being a democracy city.
• Only men could be a citizen.
5. Sparta – a day in the life
• Children lived in their mothers quarters until
they were 7 years old.
• Boys went to school at the age of 7.
• Men sailed, hunted and traded that kept them
away from home
• Women were allowed to go to weddings,
funerals and some religious festivals.

6. Sparta – government
• Sparta as ruled by two kings.
• The laws were created by the council, hat was
made up of the two kings and twenty-eight
elders.
• The elders had to e sixty-eight years old or
older to e ale to put their name in to e in the
council.

7. Alexander the great – personal
information
• Alexander he great married two women, the
first was a miners daughter called Roxana,
then the second was called Stateira and she
was a Persion princess.
• Once Alexander had died his wife had his
second child it was a boy and he didn’t lie to
see it.

8. Alexander the great- Alexanders
empire
• When Alexander the great was born the
Persian empire was the biggest in Greece. At
the age of just twenty Alexanders father was
killed and became the king of Macedon and
Greece. After becoming king he set off to
conquer his empire. He crossed into Persia
and conquered any city that came in his way.
9. The Gordian knot
• The Gordian knot was a knot that was thought
to be made by the gods and if untied the
person that untied it would rule the world.
• Alexander the great didn’t untie the knot but
he did slash it with his sword.
The Gordian knot looked a bit like this
but a little bit more tangled.
10. Plato
• Plato was a student of Socrates some say the
best. Plato wrote all of Socrates ideas down in
a book. After Socrates had died Plato finished
of his work.
• Plato founded the worlds first university.
