It seems everywhere we look these days there is some sort of promotion or
advertisement about good health and lifestyle. Well you may ask yourself what
exactly does the phrase refer to? Basically it involves having the right mind-set,
good healthy balanced diet and regular exercise.. We don’t have to join the gym or
become vegetarians, but achieving a healthy lifestyle is simple and it’s entirely our
own responsibility.
3. Fasting
Fasting during the month of Ramadan from dawn till dusk, is
undertaken to seek the pleasure of God and to practise self
control and restraint in all aspects of living.

4. Everyone needs to sleep. A good night’s sleep helps keep your mind and
body healthy. Most adults need 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. If you are having
trouble sleeping, make changes to your routine to get the sleep you need.
Kids need even more sleep than adults.
•Teens need at least 9 hours of sleep each night.
•School-aged children need at least 10 hours of sleep each night.
•Pre-schoolers sleep between 11 and 12 hours a day.
•New-borns sleep between 16 and 18 hours a day.

How to achieve longer-lasting benefits from stretching at a
deeper level. These principles enable you to accomplish more
with less effort, by better understanding muscle tissue and how
it behaves.
6. Loving your life is being willing to make changes, to let go of old ways
and unhealthy habits so that you can be the best you can be. It’s about
having the right perspective and understanding the value of who you are

7. Social communication
İt said that lonely people are more likely to become ill and die younger.
People who have no friends are more stressed, depressed and often less
physically active. More ever, experts say that how socially connected a
person tends to be is one of the most important ways of predicting this
HEALTH and independence in later years.

9. Get a Good Pair of Sneakers
Is your energy lagging? Though it may be the last thing you feel
like doing when you're tired, exercise -- even a brisk walk -- can
be more effective than a nap or cup of coffee at fighting fatigue.
10. Take a daily walk
The World Health Organization recommends an hour a day of moderate
intensity exercise (brisk walking, cycling etc). Now some of us do have
hectic lifestyles where we are on our feet most of the day keeping
active, others have more sedentary lifestyles, sometimes by career but
often by choice.
11. Try not to skip breakfast
Eating breakfast provides us with energy as well as some important nutrients that
we need for good health.
For example, a healthy breakfast of wholegrain cereal and a glass of fruit juice,
will give our body the energy and nutrients it needs to start the day.
If you skip breakfast, you are more likely to fill up on snacks that are high in fat
and/or sugar as you get hungry before lunch.
12. Drink plenty of water
Around 2/3 of our body is made up of water.
Drinking enough water each day helps prevent headaches and
dehydration.
Remember not to drink too many soft or carbonated drinks that are
high in sugar.
13. Drink Green Tea
Hot or iced, green tea can help rev up your workout. Its
catechins, antioxidants, and caffeine help increase the metabolic
generation of heat. Drink a cup about 10 minutes before
exercising.
14. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables
Try to eat at least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every
day. Fruit and vegetables provide lots of vitamins, minerals and fibre
which our bodies need to function properly.
15. Conclusion
Healthy living is a combination of many things, including good
nutrition, regular exercise and a positive attitude. Taking care of your
body and feeling pride in your accomplishments can improve both
your physical and mental health.
There are many things you can do to improve your quality of life -
improving your diet and exercising regularly are two of the easiest
steps. No matter how small you start (adding an apple a day to your
diet or walking 5 more minutes a day), you can make a change and
an improvement in your life.
