As technology improving so fast, countries have been dedicated to explore space
in the past few decades. Exploring space is a long term mission and people may
learn more about the universe little by little by the efforts of scientists and experts.
Some may worry about the high cost of building rockets and the influence on
economy. To tell the truth, Spaceships cost no more than a submarine. Moreover,
experts work hard to collect useful information from the space trips and make
good worth of money. Others may be wondering what they could benefits from
space exploring as it seems useless in their daily lives. Actually, scientists have been
more welcomed to the public in these years and they have been committed to
demonstrating professional opinion in common ways. We are all living in a
scientific atmosphere that surrounding by intelligence techniques. Exploring
beyond our earth equates to knowing better of all living things, which would also
lead us to a more creative and incredible world.

Humanity always has seen the space as the ultimate frontier to transcend over decades or even
centuries, to find a new world, and to know if we are alone or not in the universe. Or at least, this is
how government has sold us the crazy idea of space exploration. However, it has been nothing
more than an expensive, worthless race to find nothing different of what we already have on earth.
First, research is expensive, not only for the hardware used but the environmental cost of space
travel that doesn’t justify this impact. One could say that we have our technology thanks to the
space race. Nevertheless, we have found similar advances when there is a war, and war is the worst
think can ever happen to any person. Moreover, space race has worked more as an ego race for first
world countries. The first man on space, the longest space walk, etc, are the metrics for the most
powerful and advanced nations. That makes me remind the skyscrapers race 70 years ago where
the powerful city had the tallest building. Nowadays, a skyscraper means nothing, and nobody
wants to build them anymore. Same will happens to the space exploration because there is nothing
out there for us. Our life is here on earth only. Saying so, we should focus our resources to build a
better world to live, invest the money to solve the problems that we have on earth because this is
the only place where we can live on, instead of trying to go somewhere else without a real reason.

Since the beginning of time, humans are yearning for exploring new territory and gaining
new knowledge, it is in our DNA. There are so many historical facts, and journal articles to
support this statement. Exploring the space is expensive; even more importantly, it could
be dangerous “sport”; nevertheless, I believe that there are new opportunities for
humankind in the shape of knowledge and experience. Some people would say that there
are so many undiscovered territories of the planet Earth that needs to be explored; even
though the Earth is not fully explored, gaining new knowledge and information about
space is valuable. There are some opinions that exploring the space can be very expensive,
and it can bring some danger at our front door. Although it is expensive; and additionally,
it can be dangerous, exploring the space can provide us with knowledge of new species or
new minerals. Discovering new minerals could help humans to find a better way to save
energy and resources on Earth. Despite the danger or an expense, people are going to
continue explore space, and make the path of discovery for a new generation to come.

20. Writing Prompt: Should Canadian
civilians be allowed to own guns?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_ownership
21. 22
Gun violence causes civilian deaths around the world leading some countries to limit gun
ownership. Canadians resist any infringement on their personal liberties; nevertheless, banning
civilian handgun ownership will increase the safety of Canadians. Those is favour of gun ownership
point out that most people don’t use guns to hurt others, but do use them for hunting and sport.
Additionally, they emphasize the proud Canadian tradition of passing guns down to your loved
ones. In my view, individual freedom is superseded by needless death; guns pose a large enough
threat that, even though a minority use them to kill other people, treating them as recreational
devices, or as memorabilia, is inappropriate. If a gun is able to fire, it shouldn’t be kept in a personal
residence. If the gun has sentimental value, then it should be permanently rendered unable to fire.
Even though most people don’t buy a gun with the intention of hurting another person, accidents
will always happen. The cost to health and life isn’t worth the benefit. In summary, if Canadian don’t
have handguns, then they can’t use them to hurt other civilians.
