3. All CBs conducted an in depth investigation as to how much Adult cricket is
taking place outside affiliated League cricket. The ECB then looked at the target
areas for increasing Adult Participation.
•Attracting new adults who have never played or experienced cricket before
(new)
•Attracting adult players who have stopped playing cricket (lapsed)
•Attracting existing adult players to play more frequently (conversion)
Yorkshire are responsible for 11% of that.

Our target last year was to get 3567 more participants playing cricket. We hit
7055 of new players and current players increasing the frequency

park, any safe area

8. Moving forward
From the challenges that we have highlighted, the ECB Whole
Sport Plan will show a significant investment into Adult
Participation.
60% of the ECB WSP will be based on player retention in clubs
and in other forms of the game, but will also introduce a growth
in participation in the 14-25 and wider adult population
