             CLIENT SUITING & BOUTIQUE OPERATIONS
                          VOLUNTEERS

50 FABULOUS FASHIONISTAS — PERSONAL SHOPPERS work individually with each client
during her suiting appointment to ensure that she receives appropriate professional attire.
There is some boutique organizing and clean up required also.
However, the most important part of the Personal Shopper’s job is to
boost the client’s self-esteem so that she feels confident and self-
assured at her job interview. Personal shopping is an enjoyable and
rewarding way to make a direct impact on the lives of Dress for
Success clients. This is an ideal opportunity for any woman who has an
eye for dressing, enjoys clothing, shopping, and connecting in a
                               personal way with other women.

LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GALS (L.E.G.s)
The League of Extraordinary Gals performs a variety of functions to facilitate office operations:

                                OFFICE ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANTS
Typical duties of office administration assistants include general
typing, filing, managing phone inquiries, scheduling appointments, and
calling clients to follow-up. Volunteers are also needed to assist in
entering client demographics and suiting information into our client
                                database and statistical tracking spreadsheets.

                                SORTERS
We receive many generous donations, some of which are inappropriate
as interview attire. Sorters sort through clothing donations and
separate articles that are suitable as interview and employment attire
from those that are not. Unusable items are bagged for donation to
other agencies, while retained articles are further sorted by size and
hung on racks or properly stored by the sorters. This is a continual
process and volunteer sorters can be scheduled on a regular basis,
depending on availability of these positions. Groups can sort together
on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
SPECIAL EVENTS & FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEERS are needed to
participate in planning and executing fundraising events for Dress for Success. Some of our key
fundraising activities are outlined below:

Spring Fundraiser – This is our major fundraiser for the organization. It includes a corporate and
community luncheon and a greeting card campaign. Related plans and activities begin in the Fall of
each year and culminate into the Spring of the following year. Volunteers are needed to help prepare
general request letters and packets of information for distribution to potential corporate and individual
donors. Volunteers also assist with addressing cards that are mailed to prospective patrons on behalf
of donors who provide us with recipients’ lists. Volunteers are needed therewithal to serve on the
luncheon committee to coordinate and execute successful events.

Dress for Success Memphis is looking for people who will throw C.O.I.N.S.
to help support our mission. C.O.I.N.S. is an acronym for Circle
Of Influence Networking Soirees. C.O.I.N.S. are small groups of friends,
associates, and/or families who generate interest in and support for Dress for
Success within their circle of influence. Not only are C.O.I.N.S beneficial to
Dress for Success Memphis, but they also provide an opportunity for the host/hostess and guests to
socialize and/or network with a purpose.

Hosting C.O.I.N.S. can entail anything from a small martini or afternoon tea party to a backyard
barbecue—be as creative as you wish. However you do it, you'll be doing it for a great cause! And
know that every effort and every amount raised is important to us; it's not about how much is raised
from any one event or any one person. Everyone who has ever had a penny jar knows that little
amounts add up over time, and all the more when your C.O.I.N.S. are tossed in with others who share
our common goal.

Dress for Success Memphis will provide support to anyone wishing to throw C.O.I.N.S. You invite the
guests and provide the refreshments and we will provide the collateral material, deliver the message
about Dress for Success Memphis, and, if necessary, also help with the party planning ideas, invitation
design, etc. Ask us and we'll be glad to help.

We'll be sharing pictures on our website from the C.O.I.N.S. thrown for our organization. So, let's get
started — throw your C.O.I.N.S. for Dress for Success Memphis!!!

Upscale Garage Sale – This is a fun event through which we raise
funds to purchase clothing for our clients in sizes that are sparsely
donated to us. It’s a two-day event held in late October, and includes a
pre-opening reception celebration and the all-day Saturday sale, which is
held in a large tent. Volunteers are needed to help solicit donations of
household goods, clothing (aside from our stock of donations), and other
items that can be sold during the sale. Volunteers additionally sort, log in, tag, and price the
inventory; they also set up for the sale— this includes transporting merchandise from the storage area
to the sale site and attractively displaying the merchandise in the tent. Volunteers are also needed to
act as cashiers and enthusiastic spokespeople who will inform and/or better acquaint patrons and
inquirers about the mission and goals of Dress for Success Memphis.
