2. What
is POLE?
Project Oriented Learning Environment – POLE
is an international and interdisciplinary study platform that
permits the development of innovation projects in cooperation with
industry partners.
3. POLE´s Ideology
Knowledge producers and knowledge users need the dialogue to
bring about better and sustainable solutions! There is something like
collective intelligence. Transdisciplinarity trans-gresses boundaries and
searches for more socially robust solutions. Learning is a social activity.
We are looking for solutions that are
- boundary crossing - integrative - holistic - sustainable
4. POLE´s History
POLE exists for over 10 years now. It has been founded in 2001 by
Prof. Dr. Christoph Holliger. On that time he was visiting professor at
Standford University and strongly involved into the beginnings of
„design thinking“. This approach is still one of the fundamentals of
POLE. In the meantime, challenging and complex projects have been
realized in cooperation with companies such as Nestlé, Volkswagen,
Mammut Sports Group and others. In 2012 POLE has become part of
the progam of studies in iCompetence.
