In this workshop (Master in Translational Medicine-MSc, University of Barcelona's Faculty of Medicine-Hospital Clínic, 28 May 2019) I summarised the benefits which can be gained from use of social media (specially blogs,Twitter and other repositories) to support research activities, and I provided examples of these innovative emerging socialnetwork sites as tools for scientific communication, as well as resources to increase the diffusion, visibility and impact of the scientific production.
