Sexual harassment training has been mandated for over 30 years, yet companies continue to experience poor behavior that costs millions in lawsuits and damage to their reputation. Our sexual misconduct prevention course actual prevents sexual misconduct by creating empathy, a realistic environment and behavior change.
Regatta Virtual Reality Sexual Misconduct Prevention
1. Regatta has partnered with the Kinsey Institute, the world’s foremost research institution on
human sexuality, to design and construct the best program possible. Our courses focus on
addressing core scenarios impacting most organizations, creating authentic content and
perspectives, and producing valid data to measure course effectiveness. This is Regatta’s
strategy for all courses in the iLIBRARY: partner with foremost authorities and ensure the
strongest content and most effective experiences.
The Sexual Misconduct Prevention
program is the cornerstone of Regatta’s
VR-enabled course library. For decades,
sexual misconduct training has been
about avoiding legal liability. It’s been
an annual “check the box” compliance
program that is only focused on
acknowledging the rules and
regulations. It hasn’t worked. That’s why
Regatta is completing a collaboration
course with the Kinsey Institute on
Human Sexuality to create a prevention
course that is actually effective. Regatta
has leveraged virtual reality to produce
powerful courses that can change
individual behaviors and reshape
organizational cultures.

Create Empathy, Change Behavior
2. We’re using the advanced capabilities of
virtual reality (VR) to immerse people in
experiences that create empathy and shape
behavior. We understand that empathy in
learning is vital to creating change.“Empathy
allows us to design with intent, introduce focus
and clarity, advocate on behalf of our users, and
challenge assumptions.” (Nielsen Norman Group
April 21, 2019 Sympathy vs. Empathy). The
courses enable the employee to experience life
in someone else’s shoes. The courses challenge
employees with complex interactions and
common scenarios, enabling them to analyze
and appropriately respond to any situation,
focusing on nuances and problem scenarios that
often result in unintended consequences. Our
goal is to develop effective behaviors that lead
to successful interactions between co-workers
and produce a healthy workplace culture.
“Day in the Life”
Experience day-to-day interactions in a
lobby, a break room, and the office area.
Discover the nuances of language.
“Party Gone Wrong”
Attend an after-hours social. Experience an
unwanted advance firsthand and learn how
to de-escalate a situation as a third party.
“Reporting Misconduct”
Conduct a meeting with an employee
who is reporting harassment.
Demonstrate empathy and collect
supporting data to move the case forward.
“Much of the training done over the last 30 years has
not worked as a prevention tool – it’s been too focused
on simply avoiding legal liability.”– U.S. EEOC
