to analyze persuasive messages and arguments.Description:The vast majority of companies
advertise to get their product out there, to inform the public, and to hopefully improve sales.
But is advertising effective? Pick a print advertisement from a magazine and analyze the
advertisement through the lens of one or more of the theories discussed in class. Please
include the following three sections:Section 1: Explanation – explain the theory or theories
being used and the justification for its use (e.g. why is this theory appropriate for use with
this advertisement).Section 2: Application – apply the theory to your advertisement. YOU
MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF THE AD YOU’RE DISCUSSING.Section 3: Implications – what
have you learned from this analysis? Can societal implications from your analysis be drawn?
Are there methodological implications? It may help you to answer these questions if you
