Women & Health KEY FACTS IN NEPAL  Sexual and reproductive health is the most common health problems for women aged 15 to 44 (NDHS, 2016) 1 in 5 suffered from uterine prolapse (In nine districts WOREC conducted 43 health camps and service through Women Health Resource and Counseling Centre, 2014-2017) Maternal mortality Rate is 239 deaths per 100,000 live births (NDHS, 2016) 41% of adolescents aged from 15 to 19 years know abortion is legal in Nepal (NDHS, 2016) Reproductive health right of women with disability is often neglected (NDWA Study, 2016) Lack of access to sexual and reproductive health care services and information contributes to high prevalence of preventable sexual reproductive health problem. 22% adolscents girls do not have adequate information on menstruation The prevalence of Anemia among women aged 15 to 49 has increased to 41% in 2016 from 35% in 2011. (NDHS, 2016) Health facilities are not Gender sensitive & lacks psycho-social counselling service & women medical practitioner in rural areas Social and cultural norms control over women’s bodies and sexuality resulting in limited mobility & violence
  2. 2.  To provide age specific, rights- based and evidence based comprehensive sexuality education to boys and girls To implement measures to eliminate all forms of gender based violence and discrimination against women and girls For awareness program on safe abortion and preventable reproductive health problem We Urge To ensure accessibility, availability, safe and quality women and adolescent friendly reproductive health services To ensure physical, infrastructure and essential elements for people living with disability.
