Muhammad Yunus
• Muhammad Yunus was born in 28 June 1940 in the
village of Bathua, Chittagong.
• In 1974, Muhammad Yunus, a Bangladesh
economist from Chittagong University.
• Founder of Grameen Bank
• Yunus continued giving out 'micro-loans‘.
• Create the spark of initiative and enterprise
necessary to pull out of poverty.

• Found that something must be terribly wrong with
the economics he was teaching, Yunus took the
matter to solve it.
• He took out £ 17 of his pocket money to 42
basket-weavers.
• In 1997, Professor Yunus cause the world’s first
Micro Credit Summit in Washington.

their Venture
• In 1972, Mohamad Yunus studied in Bangladesh
and the USA, Yunus was appointed professor of
economics.
• When Bangladesh suffered famine in 1974, he
felt that he had to do something more for the
poor people other than simple teaching.
• He decided to give loans to people who wanted to
start their own enterprises.

• Grameen Bank's established in 1983 has been to
grant poor people small loans on easy terms.
• Muhammad Yunus regards micro-credit both as a
human right and as an effective means of
preventing from poverty.
• Muhammad Yunus lend the poor people money to
manage their own life.
