OnTrac is proud to be one of Supply and Demand Chain Executive’s 2013 Green Supply Chain Award
winners.
T he sixth-annual awards honor sustainability ef f orts that impact the supply chain, and are meant to
recognize companies making green ef f orts and sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy.
OnTrac’s built in regional hub-and-spoke model keeps f reight on the ground, which reduces the cost to its
customers and keeps the company environmentally conscious. OnTrac works to achieve measurable
sustainability goals within our operations through the strategic planning and location of our hubs and
continuous driver route optimization with emissions reduction.
Additionally, the OnTrac f acilities work with local waste management companies to reduce/consolidate
waste in the most eco-f riendly manners, stay active with a cell phone and shipping material recycling
program. T he company also provides complete online resources and a paperless payroll, encourages trip
reduction and a corporate recycling program.
“Our goal is a continuous pursuit to identif y equipment, technologies, and strategies that reduce our f uel
consumption and lower our emissions,” OnTrac Director of Fleet Operations Steve Heron said. “OnTrac
reduces its carbon f ootprint through improved f uel ef f iciencies and emissions reductions, thus
demonstrating our commitment to operate responsibly. We are proud to be recognized f or our
sustainability ef f orts by the Supply and Demand Chain Executives.”
T he awards highlight companies that are making sustainability a core part of the businesses and supply
chain strategies. About 100 submissions were received through an open nomination process. T he
magazine’s editorial staf f reviewed the submissions based on clarity and content of the goals and strategy,
the extent of the steps being taken, and the impact of the results to date.

steps being taken, the impact of the results to date and projected results, and the f orm and presentation
of the inf ormation submitted. Utilizing renewable energy, minimizing waste, and maximizing f acility and
solutions lif espans are all components that leading companies in supply chain increasingly enf orce. T his
year’s sixth-annual awards recognize small, mid-size and large enterprises that leveraged green practices
and solutions to f urther drive sustainable improvements in their supply chain.
