How to Participate
• Contact the funnel coordinators
• We’ll send you documentation
• To create and edit authority records, you need to be an OCLC user. You
will need to request OCLC authorization to work with authority records,
which is tied to your individual OCLC log-in.
• Most participants get training and feedback as they go. They start creating
records using a macro built into Connexion, and we train them via feedback
on their records.
• We hope to provide more formal online training sessions this fall.
• If you don’t have access to OCLC, or you find the intricacies of authority
records to be daunting and off-putting, you can still participate!
New service for Wisconsin libraries!
UW-Madison will create authority records for you.
• If you encounter any local names or places that lack authority records, you
can send us the information we need to create an authority record for you
• Limited for now to Wisconsin-based names – Wisconsin people, corporate
bodies from Wisconsin, geographic names from Wisconsin, etc.

  • 23. How to Participate • Contact the funnel coordinators • We’ll send you documentation • To create and edit authority records, you need to be an OCLC user. You will need to request OCLC authorization to work with authority records, which is tied to your individual OCLC log-in. • Most participants get training and feedback as they go. They start creating records using a macro built into Connexion, and we train them via feedback on their records. • We hope to provide more formal online training sessions this fall. • If you don’t have access to OCLC, or you find the intricacies of authority records to be daunting and off-putting, you can still participate!
  • 24. New service for Wisconsin libraries! UW-Madison will create authority records for you. • If you encounter any local names or places that lack authority records, you can send us the information we need to create an authority record for you • Limited for now to Wisconsin-based names – Wisconsin people, corporate bodies from Wisconsin, geographic names from Wisconsin, etc.
