Objective -
The course project is designed to provide you with a real-life practical
application of an organization’s Human Resource benefits program. You
will create a written analysis of a real-world organization’s benefit plan
design with suggested opportunities for improvement that use the
concepts and knowledge introduced in this course.

Course Project
This week you should complete the Literature Review for your project.
This part is not graded; however, completion of this part of the project
will keep you on track to complete the assignment in the various parts by
the due date. Review the course project tab under course home for
specific details.
Part 3: Literature Review
Address what was discovered in the search of relevant literature, related
articles, and the employee benefit text, as well as what was discovered in
Part 2. This means not only reviewing theories, concepts, and studies
discussed in the text or in class, but also reviewing websites and what
other writers have to say about benefit plans. Given the limited number
of weeks that a term provides and the number of steps involved in the
course project following the literature review, no more than two weeks
should be spent in reviewing literature. It is critical that those
completing questionnaires, being interviewed, or providing information
in any other manner be assured that their responses will be kept in the
strictest of confidence and will not be discussed in whole or part to any
member of the organization or outside the boundaries of the classroom.
I recommend you begin your literature search by accessing Keller’s
Online Library. While you may use information obtained from HR-
related websites, you must also obtain information from current
scholarly journals, business publications, and newspapers. Ten or more
outside resources or references are required.

Define “beautyism” and its potential discriminatory effects on hiring in
the workplace.
Assess the Chair’s behavior from a human resource management
perspective.
Recommend the action that the hiring committee should take to handle
the hiring decision.
Discuss to what degree and why attractive candidates may be given
unfair consideration during hiring processes.

Assignment 4: Rewarding Volunteers
Due Week 8 and worth 200 points
The Online University has established a broadcasting station that must
be staffed with volunteers because of budgetary constraints. Volunteers
are selected and trained to fill certain roles. The program director did not
have a leadership style that worked well with the volunteers, and
ultimately he left. For nine months, there was no program director.
Another newly hired program director did not get along with the
volunteers, and this time, the volunteers resigned and left the station
with little help.
Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:
1. Analyze the causes of the problem with understaffing at the Online
University.
2. Discuss the importance of a compatible leadership style to motivate
and manage a volunteer staff.
3. Propose a reward system that would adequately maintain volunteer
enthusiasm for these tasks.
4. Describe the appropriate communication or training program that
could have alleviated part of this problem and how you would
implement it in the future.
5. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
· Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12),
with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or
school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional
instructions.

student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The
cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page
length.
The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment
are:
· Develop work designs that support the human resources strategy.
· Examine the human resource management function of recruiting
and its importance to business strategy.
· Review the human resource management function of training and
development and the function’s importance to business strategy.
· Discuss the importance of the performance appraisal process and
how it is a key component of business strategy.
· Use technology and information resources to research issues in
human resource management.
· Write clearly and concisely about human resource management
using proper writing mechanics.
