Our Director
Mathew born and raised in the heart of Tanzania pure village in Arusha in the family of
five people. He got his primary and Secondary Education in Arusha. He dedicated all his
life climbing the highest mountain in Africa Kilimanjaro for a couples of years working as
porter. He took all 6 six routes that takes you to the summit and get to the top for more
than hundred times. On working on Kilimanjaro Mathew got the chance to meet with a lot
of people from different Nationalities where in 2001 he met with a reach Canadian Nicho-
las kolodzie who came to climb Kilimanjaro.

PHILEMONLAIZER
Philemon Laizer was born and raised in his home of Arusha town. He gained his
primary and secondary education in Arusha town. He attended the School of tourism and
hospitality as well as tour operation in Arusha town. He worked with various tour com-
pany in Arusha before joined and partnering with Wild Root safaris and adventures in
2009. Philemon spends his time in the office and make sure all clients enquiries are
responded in time. He is the father of two kids who are both living and studying in Arusha.

NAOMI MOLLEL
RESERVATION /MARKETING
Naomi Mollelwas born and raised in Arusha village located few kilometers from
Arusha city. She got both primary and secondary education in Arusha town and later
joined with the college of Tourism in Arusha. She worked with various companies in
Arusha before joined with Wild Root safaris and adventure in 2015. She makes sure all
clients reservations have been booked and fully paid. She spends her free time play-
ing /teaching kids and dealing with community projects which is supported by Wild
Root safaris and adventure.

where he studied about fauna and flora as well as hospitality. He attended various field in all Tan-
zania National parks as well as game reserves as to know the routes. He worked with various tour
companies in Arusha before joining with Wild Root safaris and adventures in 2007 working as
senior driver guide. He is the leader of larger groups assisting other guides when on safari. Travel-
ling with Raymond will give you the best experience as he shares with you the best experience
that the bush has to offer. He is a father of two kids who are both living and studying in Arusha
town.

Fredy was born and
raised in Kilimanjaro region
where the highest moun-
tain in Africa located. He
got his primary and secondary education in his home town of moshi and later he joined with
Technical College in Moshi where he studied vehicle maintenance and driving. He later attracted
with Tourism industry where he wanted to share the beauty of our country. He joined with Tour-
ism College in Moshi where he studied tourism hospitality, fauna and flora of East Africa as well
as habit and habitat of an animal. After completing his Wild life studies in Moshi and moved to
Arusha where he joined with various company for field work in Tanzania National parks. He
gained a lot of experience in the bush that leaded him to join with Wild Root safaris and adven-
ture in 2010 as driver guide. He is the father of one baby girl who is schooling and living in
Arusha.

MOUNTAINGUIDES
Paulo Silwamba came from South part of Tanzania Sumbawanga Region
which is the main region for cultivation. Paul Silwamba attended primary and Sec-
ondary Education in his village in Sumbawanga town before left the village to
Arusha town seeking for a better life. He started working as porter on Kilimanjaro
about 28 years ago before becomes guide in 2004 and leading over 1,369 trekkers to
highest top of Africa. He attended WFR wilderness first responder course as to make
sure clients get first aid on Kilimanjaro when they get injured or mountain sickness.
Climbing with Paulo Will give you the best experience as well as the assurance of
getting to the top of the highest mountain in Africa Kilimanjaro. Don’t worry to tell
Paulo how feel when you are on mountain as he always there to help you and you
will get to the top of Africa. Paulo is the provider of all Kilimanjaro equipments here
at the office as to make sure nothing goes wrong during your trekking. He is the
father of three kids who are both studying and living in Arusha.

JULIUS MOLLEL
Julius mollel was born and raised in his village in Arusha region which is the
famous town for Tourists as well as the major center for tourism. He gained his
primary as well as secondary education in Arusha. He joined with the college ofTour-
ism where he studied fauna and flora of East Africa as well French course. After com-
pleting his tourism studies and guiding skills he joined with first aid courses in
Arusha and gaining skills in Mountain sickness treatment. Climbing Kilimanjaro or
Mount meru with Julius will give you the real life time adventure as you will make
sure you get at the top either Mount meru or Kilimanjaro. He is the Father of two kids
who are both studying and living in Arusha.

GEORGE MWITA
George Mwitacame from Western Tanzania Mwanza town where the Lake Victoria
located . He gained both primary and Secondary in Mwanza before moved to Arusha look-
ing for a better life. He began training himself working as porter on Kilimanjaro for couples
of years where he learnt all routes that makes you successful get to the summit. He
attended Kilimanjaro training guide where he became a professional guide 1o years a go.
Mwita Enjoying his life time climbing the mountains inTanzania and that gives him a lot of
experiencing. He is a good singer on Kilimanjaro when comes the matter of entertaining
when clients are staying at the camp or at the last day to say Goodbye. He attended first
aid courses in Arusha that gives him good knowledge and guiding skills on Kilimanjaro.
Climbing with Mwita will give you the successful making it to the top. He is the father of
two kids who are both living and studying in Arusha.

OUR COMMUNITY
Maasai (not Masai) is the correct spelling of this noble tribe: it means people speaking maa. Masai
was the incorrect spelling of the British settlers and has remained in current use. The Maasai have
always been special. Their bright red robes set them apart visually. Spear in hand, they are calm
and courageous regardless of the danger.
The armed British troops who drove the Maasai from their lands in the early 20th century had
great respect for these fearless tribesmen. Up until recently, the only way for a Maasai boy to
achieve warrior status was to single-handedly kill a lion with his spear.
Wild Root Safaris works with the Maasai community on a knowledge-sharing basis to create and
implement holistic and comprehensive programs in conservation, health, and education that
serve the community, the wilderness, and the wildlife that are so important to us all.

Mountain Kilimanjaro climbing is a breathtaking activity and should be
clear that clothing well, slow pace as well as determination are the key to
a successful climber. While climbing Kilimanjaro you have to observe the
below gears facilities for your successful attempt. However it should be in
mind that only Marangu route offers accommodation in huts leaving the
rest of the route been using mobile tents which will be carried by your
porters.
Mount Kilimanjaro climbing is an ultimate challenge of life for
both first time and regular climbers.
While climbing mount Kilimanjaro weather gradually
changes and might start experiencing altitude sickness. Alti-
tude sickness is caused by the failure of the body to adapt
quickly enough to the reduced level of oxygen in the air as
one gains altitude. It is likely that you will experience some
form of mild altitude sickness when climbing a high moun-
tain climb.
