Alternate Domain Alias Functionality Tutorial
The E-mail Domain Alias functionality that you currently use on your version 4 E-
Commerce store will not be available when your site is migrated to version 7. However, a
feature similar to your current E-mail Domain Alias feature will be available on your
migrated version 7 store. To activate this feature, you will need to complete three steps
when your new version 7 store is available for testing:
A. Assign a Secondary Domain to your E-Commerce Package
B. Create a Mailbox for the Secondary Domain
C. Forward Messages from the Secondary Address to your Primary E-mail Address
In order to complete these steps, please follow the instructions below.
A. Assign a Secondary Domain to your E-Commerce Package
1. Log in to your Network Solutions® Account Manager.
2. Using the left hand menu, click the “E-Commerce” menu item, then click “Manage E-
Commerce”.
a. If you only have a single E-Commerce package, you will be taken directly to the
E-Commerce details screen.
b. If you have multiple E-Commerce sites, you will be presented with a list of
Commerce Packages. Click on the E-Commerce package you intend to assign
a domain to. You will then be taken to the E-Commerce Service Details screen
for that E-Commerce product.
3. On the Service Details screen, locate the “Manage E-Commerce Domains” section
and click “Assign Domains”.
a. If you would like to assign a domain name not with Network Solutions, click the
“click here” link and follow the steps for adding a domain.
b. If you would like to add a domain that exists in your account, type a subdomain
in the text area provided (optional) and select your desired domain name from
the “Select a Domain name” drop down box.
c. If you want this setting to be your primary domain, place a check mark in the
“Make this my primary domain” box).
4. Click the “Go” button.
5. Review your assignment, and if the information is correct, click on the “GO” button.
6. Your domain is now assigned to your E-Commerce package.

7. A confirmation page will appear verifying that your domain name has been assigned
to the E-Commerce package.
a. If your domain is hosted at Network Solutions, we will update your Domain
name records automatically.
b. If your domain is hosted elsewhere, you will need to update the Domain Name
Server (DNS) settings listed at your current registrar. The confirmation page will
provide the resource records needed to update the domain with your current
registrar.
B. Create a Mailbox for the Secondary Domain
1. Log in to Account Manager.
2. Using the left hand menu, click the “E-mail” menu item,
then click “Manage E-mail”.
3. Locate and click the “Add Mailbox” button.
4. Select your E-Commerce package and click “Go”.
5. Enter the name of the new mailbox and select your secondary domain from the
“Domain Name” drop down field.
6. Enter and confirm your E-mail password then Click “Save”.
You have now successfully configured your E-mailbox(es). As long as the domain name
has been registered for more than 48 hours, it should take no more than 15 minutes
for your changes to take effect.
C. Forward your Secondary Domain E-mails to your Primary E-mail
Address
1. Log in to your newly created E-mail box (Example: http://Mail.exampledomain.net).
2. Using the left hand menu, click the “Configuration” menu item.
3. Click “Forward my Mail”.
4. Enter the E-mail address you want to forward your email to. Select “Enable
Forwarder” and click “save”.
