3. What does Gratitude
mean in Islam?
“Example from the Quran about ingratitude”
“How can I go beyond just feeling more
grateful to actually BEING a more grateful
person?”
“What is the result of BEING grateful?”
4. The Bani Israel and their Ingratitude
And [recall, O Children of Israel], when Moses
said to His people, "Remember the favor of Allah
upon you when He saved you from the people of
Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with the worst
torment and were slaughtering your [newborn]
sons and keeping your females alive. And in that
was a great trial from your Lord.
(Surah Ibrahim, Verse 6)
5. The Bani Israel and their Ingratitude
• They were given shelter.
• They were gives food: Mann and Salwa.
• They were given water: 12 water springs.
• But they wanted more and more.
6. Why should we be Grateful?
Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you
whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the
earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both]
apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he
who disputes about Allah without knowledge or
guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him]).
(Surah Luqman, Verse 20)
10. What do YOU need to do?
