Board of Advisers
FR. BIENVENIDO F. NEBRES, S.J. served as President of the Ateneo de Manila University for 18 years 1993-2011. He was Dean of the Ateneo College of Arts and Sciences 1973-1980. He was Provincial Superior of the Jesuits in the Philippines 1983-89 during the time of democratic transition to President Corazon Aquino after the years of martial law under President Marcos. He was also President of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro in the early 1990s. 
He did extensive work to develop science and mathematics in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia and was elected in 2011 as National Scientist by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). He was conferred the award by President Benigno Aquino III in September 2011. 
After retirement as President, he continues as Professor of Mathematics at the Ateneo de Manila and is engaged in various programs to help overcome poverty in the country: improving public education in over 400 public schools with the Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED) and in over 200 municipalities, particularly in the Autonomous Region of Mus- lim Mindanao, with Synergeia Foundation; building homes and communities for the poor with Gawad Kalinga; and supporting young people engaged in social enterprises for poor communi- ties. 
Fr. Nebres did his early studies in classics and philosophy in the Jesuit Scholasticate, Berchmans College, and completed an AB and MA in philosophy. He obtained a PhD in mathemat- ics from Stanford University.
EMILY ALTOMONTE-ABRERA is best known for her creative advertising career that has spanned over 30 years, much of it spent as the head of ad- vertising giant McCann World Group. Under her leadership, McCann rose to prominence for its creative product, its social awareness programs, and its business success. She retired in 2004, but stayed on as consultant, playing an additional role as non-executive Chair and senior adviser of McCann World Group in the Asia-Pacific region, in the area of people development and diversity until her full retirement in 2010. 
Emily is currently chairman of CCI-Asia, the con- tent-production company behind Living Asia Channel. She is President of Foundation for Com- munication Initiatives (FOCI), an advocacy com- munications agency. She chairs the boards of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Children’s Hour Philippines and serves as trustee on the boards of several other NGO groups. She has served two terms as trustee and Chair of the Ra- mon Magsaysay Award Foundation, is a founding member of the Women’s Business Council and a member of the EDSA People Power Commission.
RODOLFO “RUDY” ANG has been a faculty member of the Ateneo de Manila since 1983. Over the years, he has held a variety of different administrative posts within the university, in- cluding his current assignment, as Dean of the Graduate School of Business. 
He has served on the Commission on Higher Ed- ucation in a variety of capacities over the last decade, including as a member of the Technical Panel on Business and Management Education, and as Chairman of the Technical Committee on Entrepreneurship. 
His many entrepreneurial ventures include small-scale commercial real estate development, and a variety of fastfood franchises.
Two years after graduating from Connecticut Col- lege in the USA, MARTIN LOPEZ started SinagTala, translated as Shining Stars, to promote Filipinos in classical, choral and ethnic music. He returned to Manila with the goals of developing audiences pri- marily for Filipino and Western classical music and the local artists engaged in these art forms. While serving as the youngest ever member of the Board of Trustees of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Martin also became a member and then a governor of the Federation for Asian Cultural Pro- motion (FACP). At the end of his term at the CCP, he joined Far Eastern University (FEU) to run its Presi- dent’s Committee on Culture concurrently with his managing SinagTala. 
Martin sits on the boards of the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines, Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. and the Vallehermoso Helping Hands Foundation. He recently completed his Mas- ter of Arts in Liberal Studies focusing on Arts De- velopment and Program Management from the Uni- versity of Denver, USA.
ARESTINA S. MORADOS is General Manager and Chief Finance Officer of PAMORA FARM, Inc. in Abra. She is an Environmental Advocate and she and her husband Gerard Papillon, through their business, are promoting organic farming methods practices. 
Tina has received awards and recognition for her advocacies; among them: First Filipino Woman Awarded by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries as “ KNIGHT IN ORDER WITH MERITS IN AGRICULTURE ” (Chevalier de l’Ordre du Merit Agricole); GAWAD SAKA Regional Winner for Cor- dillera Administrative Region as the Most Outstand- ing Agriculture Entrepreneur; 2011 DENR ENVI- RONMENTAL PARTNER awardee for the invaluable efforts in adopting environment friendly method on poultry raising, agro-forestation and biodiversity conservation; GO NEGOSYO’s 15 Most Inspiring AGRI-ENTREPRENEURS 2014.
SEVERINO R. SARMENTA JR. PhD is Assistant Professor at the Department of Communica- tion. For the last three decades he has worn three hats as communication professor teach- ing public relations, events management and thesis writing. He is also a PR tools creator, writing and editing coffee table books, direct- ing and writing videos and producing other corporate material. Lastly, he is a sports jour- nalist who covers events on TV and for the Phil- ippine Daily Inquirer where he pens a twice weekly column. 
Sev Sarmenta is an AB Communication gradu- ate of the Ateneo de Manila and has MA and PhD degrees from the University of the Philip- pines.
Maria Luz C. Vilches is Associate Professor of English and Dean of the School of Hu- manities at Ateneo de Manila University. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Lan- caster University, an MA in English Lan- guage in Literary Studies from the University of Nottingham, an MA in Folk Life Studies from Leeds University, an MA in English Lit- erature from Ateneo de Manila University, and an AB in English and Philosophy from Di- vine Word University of Tacloban. This inter- disciplinary background is her seedbed for inner resources that allow dreams to flourish into reality.
RAQUEL NEPOMUCENO VILLAVICENCIO is an award-winning actress, screenwriter and production designer. Among the feature films she has appeared in are Sister Stella L directed by Mike de Leon, Tagos ng Dugo directed by Maryo J delos Reyes, Isang Araw Walang Diyos directed by Peque Gallaga and Oropronobis directed by Lino Brocka. Her acting awards include Best Actress for her role in Bisperas, Director’s Show- case, 2011 Cinemalaya Film Festival and Best Performer for Tisyu. 1994 Ikawalong Gawad CCP para sa Alternatibong Pe- likula at Video. 
Raquel won awards for Best Original Story and Screenplay for two films directed by Mike de Leon: Kisapmata, Metro Manila Film Festival 1981and Catholic Mass Media Award 1981 and Batch ’81, Metro Manila Film Festival 1982 and for Teen-age Marriage, directed by Mel Chionglo – Philippine Movie Press Club (STAR Awards) 1985; Best Screenplay, Ikaw Pa Lang Ang Minahal, directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna – Urian 1993, FAMAS 1993, FAP Awards, 1993; Best Story and Screenplay, Huling Birhen Sa Lupa, directed by Joel Lamangan – Manila Film Festival, 2003. 
She is also an award-winning production designer for Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo, directed by Laurice Guillen 1980 – Metro Ma- nila Film Festival 1981 and Himala, directed by Ishmael Bernal – Metro Manila Film Festival 1982. Raquel remains active in both mainstream and independent films and on TV drama se- ries.

Among the feature films she has appeared in are Sister Stella L directed by Mike de Leon, Tagos ng Dugo directed by Maryo J delos Reyes, Isang Araw Walang Diyos directed by Peque Gallaga and Oropronobis directed by Lino Brocka. Her acting awards include Best Actress for her role in Bisperas, Director’s Show- case, 2011 Cinemalaya Film Festival and Best Performer for Tisyu. 1994 Ikawalong Gawad CCP para sa Alternatibong Pe- likula at Video. Raquel won awards for Best Original Story and Screenplay for two films directed by Mike de Leon: Kisapmata, Metro Manila Film Festival 1981and Catholic Mass Media Award 1981 and Batch ’81, Metro Manila Film Festival 1982 and for Teen-age Marriage, directed by Mel Chionglo – Philippine Movie Press Club (STAR Awards) 1985; Best Screenplay, Ikaw Pa Lang Ang Minahal, directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna – Urian 1993, FAMAS 1993, FAP Awards, 1993; Best Story and Screenplay, Huling Birhen Sa Lupa, directed by Joel Lamangan – Manila Film Festival, 2003. She is also an award-winning production designer for Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo, directed by Laurice Guillen 1980 – Metro Ma- nila Film Festival 1981 and Himala, directed by Ishmael Bernal – Metro Manila Film Festival 1982. Raquel remains active in both mainstream and independent films and on TV drama se- ries.
