Vic Mangino, President of Reminis, began his professional career by enlisting in the U.S.
Air Force. Within three years, he was offered an officer's commission. After graduating from
Officer Training School, he served throughout the U.S. and Europe in numerous Human Resources
and Information Technology related positions until he retired from active duty at the rank of Major.
Since then, he has held executive-level management positions in both manufacturing and the
retail sector. Mr. Mangino's vast military and private business experience enabled him to build
expertise in a number of fields. He has utilized his diverse background in various consulting
environments since 2002 and started Reminis Consulting in 2005.

Retained firms are paid by the client for performing the search process in a thorough and
professional manner. Typically, the relationship is exclusive, and the search firms are compensated
on a progress basis as the search is performed. Most executive and upper management level
candidates are found via retained searches. Reminis normally only performs retained searches.
Contingency search firms are similar to the real estate industry; the search firm earns a placement
fee (commission) when the person begins working. The client may be using multiple recruiters to
fill the same position. Some contingency firms have been known to mail resumes to literally
hundreds of companies in hopes of placing someone. This can actually be a detriment to the
candidate as companies may receive duplicate resumes and lose interest. Or, candidates get calls
from numerous recruiters, all trying to fill the same vacant position. Frustrating for all involved.
