- Hi we’re student council members from EMSAH and we’re here to talk about a new communication platform for the school
- And so far, it’s been great. It is used primarily for lecturers to give students resources and materials. However, it’s unable to provide a social experience because it is based mainly on a one-way communication model. It is too strict and limited and it is boring. If Blackboard were an ice cream flavour it’d be Vanilla. Good, tasty and the base of several great flavours like cookies and cream, but boring.But we’re not looking for a replacement of blackboard.. We’re looking for a new platform for communication.
- We need more than Vanilla. What we need is a casual communication platform. An open discussion platform between lecturers, tutors and students. It needs to be accessible, it needs to be user friendly, and it could even provide some new opportunities for networking.

- Hangouts for study sessions, + can be uploaded and shared (study sessions, lectopia)
- Our proposal is to first implement this on facebook, because we feel it better fulfils all of the criteria.
