Network mindsets and language, triple bottom line metrics and incentives supporting collaboratiion, architecting participation to maximize performance are all important but not new about sustainable enterprises is ensuring a market based strategy drives the organization and business as we saw with P&G. We only have to look at the failures of the global financial services, US auto industry, US infrastructure - healthcare, education, the list goes on to see that sustainability ultimately is about innovation tied to enterprise longevity, not a short term gain. Strategy is a conversation which needs to answer the question - is what we are undertaking sustainable?
