Objective

Enthusiastic and fashion-aware second year undergraduate student with previous customer
service experience and a positive attitude to work, seeking a part-time position in retail. Able
to work for up to 20 hours a week including weekends and all day Wednesday.

2010-present           BA Economics, University of Leicester

Improved level of verbal communication skills giving assessed presentations and shown can
work successfully within a team in group projects. Also demonstrated good time
management in being able to balance studying with other non-academic activities.

2008-2010              Chu Hai College of Higher Education, Hong Kong

                       9 exams (Grades A-B) including Maths and English

Work Experience

Summer 2011-present            Shop Volunteer, Loros, Leicester

 Volunteer one afternoon a week in a local charity shop selling donated items of clothing.
 Assist shop manager in sorting and processing stock, assessing condition of garments and
  pricing accordingly.
 Deal with a wide variety of customers, serve on the till and handle cash and card
  transactions.
 Asked shop manager if could be responsible for creating the window displays, task which
  excel in with new displayed outfits often selling quickly.
 Getting to know some of the regular customers has helped to strengthen my
  interpersonal skills as a result.

November-December 2010                Sales Assistant, Marks & Spencer, Leicester

 Worked in the food and produce department in the weeks leading up to Christmas, a
  peak time for the store and very busy with customers.
 Ensured gave each customer with a query individual attention, took them to relevant aisle
  and helped to locate items, checked they had found everything they were looking for.
 Used initiative working out which stock needed to go out on the shop floor quickly and
  reported to section manager where supplies were low and needed to be re-ordered.
 Role required knowledge of products and ability to work efficiently and with frequent
  interruption.

Well-organised, able to work on a number of different tasks at the same time and see them
through to successful completion as shown in my first year studies.

Accuracy
High level of attention to detail shown in putting together the window displays at Loros and
accuracy in operating the till.

Ability to work as part of a team to achieve a common objective in group assignments for
degree, or equally comfortable working on my own with minimal supervision.

rapport as demonstrated in retail positions.

Interests

Member of the University of Leicester International Student Society, has organised social
events to help students make friends and develop language skills. Maintain keen interest in
fashion reading blogs and magazines and enjoy shopping at vintage fairs for more individual
clothing.
