This document outlines the assignments and marks for a course on material development for language classrooms. It includes three assignments: 1) A group writing assignment where students summarize 3 journal articles on language teaching materials (10%). 2) An individual lesson plan and materials assignment where students create an original lesson plan using at least 3 adapted materials like pictures, a newspaper article, song, video or literary work (30%). 3) An individual overall reflection assignment where students reflect on the course and justify their reflection using at least 5 literature reviews (20%). The total marks for all assignments is 60%.

( online, printed journals, reference text etc. )
* Length of the articles should be between 3 – 5

* Article should focus on a particular material or
media in second language teaching. For instance :
- The usage of newspaper in teaching English.
- Using songs to teach grammar.
- Computer Assisted Language Learning.
* Write summary for each articles based on the
main ideas.
* Each summary should be about 1 page.

AND MATERIALS
* Prepare 1 double period lesson plan.
* In the lesson, must include the usage of at least 3
materials.
* Materials should be adapted and not taken
originally from a source. (Please attach the
original and adapted materials as appendix)
* Choose at least 3 of these materials and prepare
them :
- 5 pictures.
- A newspaper article
- A song or a game
- A video
- A literary material ( poem, short story )
* Write your personal response and rationale for
choosing those materials. Use the format below :
