Organized by CI-UADY with five judges from different institutions in Mexico.
CI-UADY representatives won First and Second place.

Organized by CI-Mexico City, CI-UADY representatives won First and Second
place.

5. Chinese Bridge National Competition
University Students: since 2011, CI-UADY students have achieved twice the
first place, twice a second place and twice a third place.
Middle School Students: since 2012 CI-UADY students have achieved four
times the first place, twice the second place and twice a third place.

6. Scholarships
Starting on 2009 with summer camp scholarships, Hanban has offered the
following scholarships to CI-UADY students:
1 scholarship for Undergraduate Program of TCSOL*
5 scholarships for Master Program of TCSOL*
73 scholarships for one academic year of Chinese courses
18 scholarships for one semester Chinese courses
50 scholarships for short visits (two weeks)
227 scholarships for Summer Courses (one month)
Total: 374 scholarships
*TCSOL: Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages

7. Academic Activities for Teachers
Teachers have weekly meetings to discuss teaching methodologies, design of
teaching materials, teaching training is mandatory for all teaching staff.
Two local teachers participated in the Training organized by the Latin American
Center of Confucius Institutes in Chile.

Directors atended the Latin American
Congress of Confucius Institutes
organized by CI at Buenos Aires, the
Second International Congress about
China Studies organized by CI-La Plata
(both events at Argentina).
Meeting of CI’s in Mexico was
organized on October 7th to discuss
how to cooperate during 2020.

Conference of High Level Expert “Pan Zhitao” from Beijing Academy of Chinese
Dance, Chinese expert Radina Dimitrova talking about Chinese poetry and movies
and Mexican poet Manuel Cuautle for Reading chinese poems translated to Spanish.

• Because of good results during 2019, CI-UADY will continue to
implement its strategic management program which includes
the development of guidelines for the operation of the
Institute (Teaching observation and evaluation system,
Teaching Planning System, Academic Resources Development)
• CI-UADY has become important part of FILEY

V. Impact
• Academic visit to CRICAL and CIs in Chile to share CI-UADY
teaching Chinese Programs, helps the Institute to obtain
feedback and keep making improvements to the programs
• Because of the visit, CRICAL suggested that CI-UADY become
the Center for local teachers’ training in the Northern part of
Latin America

V. Impact
• Collaboration with the local Chamber of Commerce in Yucatan
through High Level Academic Conferences and strenghtening
the collaboration with the municipality (developing tailor
programs of Chinese language and culture) could allow
graduated students to find work opportunities where they can
make use their knowledges in Chinese and Chinese culture.
• HSK y HSKK high rate of approval is directly related to the
quality of Teaching Chinese at CI-UADY
• The National Chinese Bridge Competition results of 2019 also
demonstrates the teaching quality of CI-UADY

CI-UADY further contributes to the University’s
internationalization process in China, receiving delegations from
different Chinese universities.

CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE AT THE AUTONOMOUS UNIVERSITY OF YUCATAN 尤卡坦自治大孔子学院 Induction Program During two weeks in August, prior to the beginning of classes, all teachers take part into two weeks program for learning about Mexico, Mexican culture, students’ characteristics, administrative and academic processes Manual for Elaborating Teaching Plans Describes the structure of an effective language class and it helps teachers to design their class activities according to the Educational Model of UADY. It considers the opinions of students, the Head teacher and other colleagues. There is always a face to face feedback about the results. Academic Supervision It is conducted twice per semester by the Head Teacher. External Evaluation CI-UADY invited two language professors to evaluate CI-UADY academic and administrative processes in order to improve the service quality of CI-UADY. I. CI-UADY- Administration

Scholarships Starting on 2009 with summer camp scholarships, Hanban has offered the following scholarships to CI-UADY students: 1 scholarship for Undergraduate Program of TCSOL* 5 scholarships for Master Program of TCSOL* 73 scholarships for one academic year of Chinese courses 18 scholarships for one semester Chinese courses 50 scholarships for short visits (two weeks) 227 scholarships for Summer Courses (one month) Total: 374 scholarships *TCSOL: Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages

Impact • Academic visit to CRICAL and CIs in Chile to share CI-UADY teaching Chinese Programs, helps the Institute to obtain feedback and keep making improvements to the programs • Because of the visit, CRICAL suggested that CI-UADY become the Center for local teachers’ training in the Northern part of Latin America

Impact • Collaboration with the local Chamber of Commerce in Yucatan through High Level Academic Conferences and strenghtening the collaboration with the municipality (developing tailor programs of Chinese language and culture) could allow graduated students to find work opportunities where they can make use their knowledges in Chinese and Chinese culture. • HSK y HSKK high rate of approval is directly related to the quality of Teaching Chinese at CI-UADY • The National Chinese Bridge Competition results of 2019 also demonstrates the teaching quality of CI-UADY
